Al-Tuhfa al-Saniyya is the standard modern commentary on al-Ajurrumiyyah — the short sharh with which most students worldwide begin nahw. Abd al-Hamid, editor of the era's great grammar texts, restates each rule of Ibn Ajurrum's matn in clear simple prose with worked iʿrab examples and exercises. It is the natural first rung before Ibn Uthaymeen's fuller sharh and the classical commentaries.
