مُكْثِرٌ ذ A man possessing wealth: (K:) or possessing much wealth. (A, TA.)

مَكْثَرَةٌ ذ A cause of rendering abundant, or multiplying; syn. مَثْرَاةٌ, q. v. (S, K in art. ثرو.)

مِكْثَارٌ ذ (A, K, TA) and ↓ مِكْثِيرٌ, (K, TA,) applied to a man, and to a woman, (A, TA,) Loquacious; talkative; a great talker; (K, TA;) a great babbler. (A.)

مَكْثُورٌ ذ Overcome in number: (S, * A:) one against whom people have multiplied by degrees (ثَكَاثَرُوا عَلَيْهِ) so that they have overcome or subdued him. (TA.) ― -b2- مَكْثُورٌ عَلَيْهِ [A place thronged ]. ― -b3- فُلَانٌ مَكْثُورٌ عَلَيْهِ Such a one has spent what he had, and claims upon him have become numerous: (S:) or such a one has many seekers of his beneficence. كَثْنَبٌ ذ , as also كَنْثَبٌ, Hard, and strong, or robust: (K:) but most of the writers on inflexion consider its ن augmentative. (TA.)

كُحٌّ ذ Anything pure, mere, unadulterated, or genuine; (L;) i. q. قُحٌّ, (L, K,) of which it is a dial. form: (S:) [but see what follows, and قُحٌّ]. عَرَبِىٌّ كُحٌّ A pure, or genuine, Arab: fem. عَرَبِيَّةٌ كُحَّةٌ: (S, K:) pl. أَكْحَاحٌ: you say أَعْرَابٌ اكحاحٌ: (L:) [or this is not said: see قُحٌّ:] Yaakoob asserts, that the ك in كُحٌّ is substituted for the ق in قُحٌّ: (L:) [and if so, the former is not a dial. form of the latter]. عَبْدٌ كُحٌّ A mere, or genuine, slave; of purely servile race. (L.)

كُحْكُحٌ ذ and كِحْكِحٌ A decrepit old woman: (S, K:) a she-camel far advanced in age: (K:) or old and weak: (S:) or far advanced in age, and having lost her teeth: (T:) a she-camel, and cow, and ewe, or she-goat, old and weak, and unable to retain her slaver: or whose teeth are consumed. (L.)

أَكَحُّ ذ Toothless. (L.)

كُحُحٌ ذ Decrepit old women. (K.)

1 كَحَبَهُ ذ , aor. كَحَبَ , He struck him on his podex. (K.)

2 كحّب الكَرْمُ ذ , inf. n. تَكْحِيبٌ, The vine put forth its unripe, or sour, grapes: (K:) or its bunches thereof: this is a correct explanation, given on the authority of IAar: (Az:) or it became abundant in grapes: (K:) or its grapes became pleasant in flavour. (TA.)

كَحْبٌ ذ T he podex: (K:) of the dial. of ElYemen. (TA.) -A2- As coll. gen. n. Unripe, or sour, grapes: n. un. with ة: (K:) as also كَحْمٌ: a word of the dial. of El-Yemen. (TA.)

كَاحِبَةٌ ذ , Many, or much. (K.) دَرَاهِمْ كَاحِبَةٌ Many dirhems; or much money. (Fr.) ― -b2- نَارٌ كَاحِبَةٌ Fire of which the flame rises high. (K.)

أَكْحَتُ ذ Short, (K,) as an epithet applied to a man. (TA.)

1 كَحَثَ لَهُ مِنَ الَمالِ ذ , aor. كَحَثَ , (inf. n. كَحْثٌ and كَحْثَةٌ, TA,) He laded out for him with his hands, (or with his hand, as in some copies of the K, and in the L,) [ somewhat ] of the property. (L, K.)

1 كُدَّ ذ , aor. كَدُ3َ , (L,) inf. n. كَدٌّ, (S, L, K,) He toiled; or was, or became, vehement, or severe, (S, A, L, K,) in work; (S, A, L;) he worked laboriously; (TA;) he fatigued himself, and hastened, in his work. (L.) [You say] بِجَدِّكَ لَا بِكَدِّكَ By thy good fortune, not by thy toil, are things attained. A proverb. (L.) And لَا تَجْعَلْ عَيْشَهُمَا كَدًّ Make not the life of them two a toil. R. Q. 1 كَدْكَدَ عَلَى الكَدِيدِ ذ (assumed tropical:) He ran upon the dust of the race-course. (L.)

كَدٌّ ذ [inf. n. of 1, q. v. ― -b2- as a subst.] A mortar in which things are pounded, or bruised; like هَاوَنٌ, or هَاوُونٌ. (S, K.)

كِدَّةٌ ذ and كُدَّةٌ see كَدِيدٌ.

كَدُودٌ ذ A man who toils, or works, laboriously, so as to fatigue himself. (A.) ― -b2- (tropical:) A she-camel whose milk is not obtained without labour, or exertion. (A.) بِئْرٌ كَدُودٌ (tropical:) A well of which the water is not obtained without labour, or exertion, (S, A, L, K,) and difficulty, or trouble. (TA.) ― -b3- (tropical:) Tenacious; niggardly: (K, but omitted in some copies:) one from whom benefits are not obtained without difficulty. (A.)

أَرْضٌ كَدِيدٌ ذ (tropical:) Ground trodden with the hoofs of horses or the like. (S, * A, * L.) ― -b2- كَدِيدٌ (tropical:) Fine dust, trodden with the feet: fine dust, which, if trodden, flies about: (L:) dust of a racecourse. (TA.) ― -b3- Coarsely pounded salt. (L, K.) [Also,] The sound of coarsely pounded salt when it is poured out, (L, K,) one portion upon another. (L.) -A2- A low, or depressed, tract of land, (بَطْنٌ, K, or بطين, L, as from A'Obeyd,) of wide extent, (L, K,) formed like a valley, or wider than a valley. (A'Obeyd, L.) ― -b2- A rugged tract of land; (L, K;) as also ↓ كِدَّةٌ, with kesr, (K,) or ↓ كُدَّةٌ; (L;) so called because it fatigues him who walks upon it. (L.)

كُدَادَةٌ ذ The cooked food which remains in the bottom of the cooking-pot, and which is drawn out (كُدَّ) with the fingers: (Az, L:) what remains in the bottom of the cooking-pot, (As, L, K,) sticking to it, after the ladling out; (L;) as also كَدَدَةٌ (L, K) and كُدَدَةٌ: (K:) or the broth, or gravy, remaining in the bottom of the cooking-pot. (S.) ― -b2- Also I. q. قِشْدَةٌ, (S, L, K,) [i. e.] the dregs, or sediment, of clarified butter. (L.) ― -b3- A little that remains of pasture, or herbage. (L.) See also أَكِدَّةٌ.

كَدْكَدَةٌ ذ a word imitative of the sound made by a thing that is struck upon a hard thing. (S, L.)

اكِدَّةٌ ذ The remains in a place of pasture which has already been eaten. (K.) See also كُدَادَةٌ and أَكْدَادٌ.

قَوْمٌ أَكْدَادٌ ذ A quick, or swift, people: (As, S, L:) or a people composing distinct bodies, or parties, or troops; (L, art. كتد; and K;) as also ↓ أَكِدَّةٌ and أَكَادِيدُ. (K.) See also أَكْتَادٌ.

مَكْدُودٌ ذ pass. part. n. of كَدَّ, q. v. ― -b2- A man overcome. (L.)

مُكِدٌّ ذ (tropical:) One who gives [ only ] when asked. (A.) See also كَدُودٌ, and 1, and 4.

مِكَدٌّ ذ (assumed tropical:) A comb. (K.) ― -b2- (tropical:) An instrument for scratching or scraping. (TA.)

1 كَدَأَ ذ and كَدِئَ , aor. كَدَاَ , inf. n. كَدْءٌ and كُدُوْءٌ, It (a plant) was affected by the cold, and thereby made to stick to the earth: or its growth became slow by reason of want of water. (AZ, S, K.) ― -b2- كَدَأَ, aor. كَدَاَ ; (K;) and ↓ كدّأ, (S, K,) inf. n. تَكْدِئَةٌ; (S;) the former the more common; (TA;) It (cold) cast down the standing corn &c. upon the earth. (S, K.) ― -b3- كَدَأَ (tropical:) It (herbage) was short and bad, (K,) on account of the badness of the soil. (TA.) ― -b4- كَدِئَتِ الاـِبِلُ, aor. كَدَاَ , inf. n. كَدْءٌ, The camels had little hair. (TA.) -A2- كَدِئَ, (K,) or كَدَأَ, (L.) the former said to be of an uncommon dial., (MF,) aor. كَدَاَ , It (a crow or raven) croaked roughly, as though it were vomiting. (L, K.)

Q. Q. 1 كَوْدَأَ ذ , (K,) inf. n. كَوْدَأَةٌ, (TA,) He ran in the manner called عَدْو: (K:) i. e., he hastened in his pace. (TA.) [See دَأْدَأَ.]

أَرْضٌ كَادِئَةٌ ذ A land that produces plants slowly. (S, K.) ― -b2- اـِبِلٌ كَادِئَةُ الأَوْبَارَ Camels having little hair: pl. كَوَادِئُ. (TA.)

كِنْدَأْوٌ ذ dial. form of كِنْتَأْوٌ. (K.) ― -b2- A gross, or bulky, camel. (K.) [But perhaps جمل is here put by a mistake of a copyist in the K for حبل, and the meaning is a thick rope; for كنتأو is said to signify thick, as an epithet applied to a rope: or the reverse may be the case in the explanation of the latter word.] It occurs again in art. كند. (TA.)

كَدْبٌ ذ and كَدِبٌ and كَدَبٌ and كُدْبٌ [but the second seems to have been written, in MF's copy of the K, كِدْبٌ], coll. gen. ns., also with ذ for د, The whiteness [or white marks ] on the nails of young persons: n. un. (of each of the above words, TA,) with ة: as also كُدَيْبَاءُ: (K:) but this last, says SM, I have not found in any other lexicon. (TA.) ― -b2- جَاؤُوا عَلَى قَمِيصِهِ بِدَمٍ كَدِبٍ, [Kur, xii. 18,] so accord. to the reading of Ibn-'Abbás, (K,) and 'Áïsheh, and El-Hasan El-Basree, (TA,) They brought, upon his shirt, blood inclining in colour to white; as though it were blood that had made marks upon the shirt resembling embroidery or the like: (K:) or fresh blood: or, contr. dry blood: or blood of a dingy hue: or blood changed [ in colour ]. (TA.)

مَكْدُوبَةٌ ذ A woman of a pure white complexion. (IAar, K.)

1 كَدَحَ ذ , aor. كَدَحَ , (inf. n. كَدْحٌ, S,) He worked or wrought; laboured; employed himself actively; syn. سَعَى; (S, K;) and عَمِلَ: (S:) he wrought for himself good or evil: (K:) he was eager, and strove, laboured, or exerted himself, and wearied himself, in work, in the affairs relating to the present world and in those relating to the world to come: (Zj:) he toiled, or laboured hard. (S, K.) هُوَ يَكْدَحُ فِى كَذَا He toils, or labours hard, in such a thing, or affair. (S.) ― -b2- كَدَحَ لِعِيَالِهِ, and ↓ اكتدح, He sought, sought after, or sought to gain, sustenance; or he gained, acquired, or earned; for his family, or household; syn. كَسَبَ, (S, K,) or اكتسب. (L.) -A2- كَدَحَ وَجْهَهُ It (a thing, S) scratched, or lacerated, his face: (S, K:) or did to his face that which disfigured it, or rendered it ugly or unseemly: as also ↓ كدّحهُ, (K,) inf. n. تَكْدِيحٌ: (TA:) or كدّح, inf. n. تكديح, signifies it scratched, or lacerated, much, or many times, or in many places: (S:) also [so in the L; but in the K, or] كَدَحَ in the phrase كَدَحَ وَجْهَهُ signifies أَفْسَدَ; (K;) you say كَدَحَ وَجْهَ أَمْرِهِ, meaning he marred his affair. (L.) ― -b2- كَدَحَ رَأْسَهُ He separated his hair with a comb. (K.)

5 تكدّح ذ It (the skin) became scratched, or lacerated, much, or many times, or in many places. (S, K.) ― -b2- وَقَعَ مِنَ السَّطْحِ فَتَكَدَّحَ He fell from the flat top, or roof, of the house, and became much broken [ in his skin ]. (L.)

كَدْحٌ ذ A scratch, or laceration, of the skin; i. q. خَدْشٌ: (S, K:) or a كَدْح is more (or larger, L) than a خَدْش: (S:) any mark made by scratching or biting: (IAth:) pl. كُدُوحٌ. (S, K.) Ex. بِهِ كَدْحٌ, (S, K,) and كُدُوحٌ, (S,) He has upon him a scratch, &c. (S, K.)
