قَوَاعِدُ اللُّغَةِ: تَدْرِيبَاتٌ عَامَّةٌ.

أَقْرَأُ الأَبْيَاتَ الآتِيَةَ، ثُمَّ أُنَفِّذُ النَّشَاطَ:

Read the following verses, then complete the activity:

قَالَ الشَّاعِرُ مَعْرُوفٌ الرَّصَافِيُّ دَاعِيًا إِلَى الْعِلْمِ:

The poet Ma'ruf al-Rusafi says, advocating for knowledge:

كَفَى بِالْعِلْمِ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ نُورًا يُبَيِّنُ فِي الْحَيَاةِ لَنَا الأُمُورَا.

Knowledge is enough to light the darkness and clarify our path in life.

فَكَمْ وَجَدَ الذَّلِيلُ بِهِ اعْتِزَازًا وَكَمْ لَبِسَ الْحَزِينُ بِهِ سُرُورًا.

How often the downtrodden have found pride in it, and how often the sorrowful have worn joy through it.

تَزِيدُ بِهِ الْعُقُولُ هُدًى وَرُشْدًا وَتَسْتَعْلِي النُّفُوسُ بِهِ شُعُورًا.

It grants minds guidance and maturity, and lifts the spirit to higher awareness.

إِذَا ارْتَوَتِ الْبِلَادُ بِفَيْضِ عِلْمٍ فَعَاجِزُ أَهْلِهَا يُمْسِي قَدِيرًا.

When lands are quenched by the flow of knowledge, the incapable among their people become capable.

أَلَسْنَا النَّاظِمِينَ عُقُودَ مَجْدٍ نَزِينُ مِنَ الْعُصُورِ بِهَا النُّحُورَا؟

Are we not the ones stringing necklaces of glory, adorning the necks of the ages?
