يُكْتَبُ النِّصْفُ الثَّانِي مِنْ كُلٍّ مِنْ حَرْفَيِ الْعَيْنِ وَالْغَيْنِ تَحْتَ السَّطْرِ إِذَا كَانَا مُنْفَرِدَيْنِ.

(from previous page) ⟵ I notice: the drawing of the two letters (Ain - Ghain) in their different forms in each of the following words: skilled, Eid, metals, dye | rain, separation | | fast, forms. The second half of each of the letters Ain and Ghain is written below the line if they are isolated.

أَجَرِّدُ الْأَحْرُفَ الْمُلَوَّنَةَ فِي الْكَلِمَاتِ السَّابِقَةِ، مُنْتَبِهًا لِطَرِيقَةِ كِتَابَتِهَا. أَتَعَلَّمُ:

I isolate the colored letters in the previous words, noting how they are written.

تُكْتَبُ أَشْكَالُ حَرْفِ الْعَيْنِ (ع) بِخَطِّ الرُّقْعَةِ. ع.

The shapes of the letter 'ayn' (ع) are written in Ruq'ah script.

تُكْتَبُ أَشْكَالُ حَرْفِ الْغَيْنِ (غ) بِخَطِّ الرُّقْعَةِ. غ. أَتَدَرَّبُ:

The shapes of the letter 'ghayn' (غ) are written in Ruq'ah script.

أُحَاكِي رَسْمَ كَلِمَاتِ الْبَيْتِ الْآتِي بِخَطِّ الرُّقْعَةِ، مُنْتَبِهًا لِلْحَرْفَيْنِ الْمُلَوَّنَيْنِ.

I copy the words of the following verse in Ruq'ah script, paying attention to the two colored letters.

يَا طِفْلَةَ الصَّحْرَاءِ غُورِي بِنَا إِلَى أَغَانِي مَجْدِكِ الْأَنْصَرِ. أَطَبِّقُ:

O child of the desert, lead us deep into the songs of your glorious legacy.

أَكْتُبُ الْبَيْتَ الْآتِي بِخَطِّ الرُّقْعَةِ، وَأُلَاحِظُ الْفَرْقَ بَيْنَ خَطِّ الرُّقْعَةِ وَخَطِّ النَّسْخِ.

I write the following verse in Ruq'ah script, observing the differences between Ruq'ah and Naskh scripts.

مَا زِلْتِ، مِلْءَ الرُّؤَى يَا أَنْتِ يَا مَلْحَمَةَ الْأَعْصُرِ.

You remain, filling my vision, O you, the epic of the ages.
