شَرْحُ رِيَاضِ الصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ كَلَامِ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

بَابُ تَحْرِيمِ الْمُرُورِ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْمُصَلِّي.

Chapter: The prohibition against passing in front of someone praying.

عَنْ أَبِي الْجُهَيْمِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الصِّمَّةِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ: لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمَارُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْمُصَلِّي مَاذَا عَلَيْهِ لَكَانَ أَنْ يَقِفَ أَرْبَعِينَ خَيْرًا لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمُرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ.

Abu al-Juhaym Abdullah ibn al-Harith ibn al-Simmah al-Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allah said: 'If the person passing in front of someone praying knew the gravity of his sin, he would realize that standing still for forty years would be better than taking that step.'
