شَرْحُ رِيَاضِ الصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ كَلَامِ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنْ مُخَاطَبَةِ الْفَاسِقِ وَالْمُبْتَدِعِ وَنَحْوِهِمَا بِسَيِّدٍ وَنَحْوِهِ.

Chapter: The prohibition against addressing the corrupt, the innovator, or their likes as 'master' or with similar titles.

عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَقُولُوا لِلْمُنَافِقِ سَيِّدٌ، فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ يَكُ سَيِّدًا فَقَدْ أَسْخَطْتُمْ رَبَّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ».

Buraydah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: 'Do not call a hypocrite "master," for if he truly is a master, you have angered your Lord, the Almighty and Majestic.'
