بَابُ تَحْرِيمِ التَّعْذِيبِ بِالنَّارِ فِي كُلِّ حَيَوَانٍ حَتَّى النَّمْلَةِ وَنَحْوِهَا. وَإِذَا لَمْ يُمْكِنِ اتِّقَاءُ شَرِّ النَّمْلِ إِلَّا بِمُبِيدٍ يَقْتُلُهَا نِهَائِيًّا، فَلَا بَأْسَ؛ لِأَنَّ هَذَا دَفْعٌ لِأَذَاهَا، وَإِلَّا فَإِنَّ النَّمْلَ مِمَّا نَهَى النَّبِيُّ عَنْ قَتْلِهِ، لَكِنْ إِذَا آذَاكَ وَلَمْ يَنْدَفِعْ إِلَّا بِالْقَتْلِ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِقَتْلِهِ، وَاللَّهُ الْمُوَفِّقُ. أَخْرَجَهُ أَحْمَدُ، وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ كِتَابُ الْأَدَبِ، بَابٌ فِي قَتْلِ الذَّرِّ، وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ: كِتَابُ الصَّيْدِ بَابٌ مَا يُنْهَى عَنْ قَتْلِهِ، مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا.

بَابُ تَحْرِيمِ التَّعْذِيبِ بِالنَّارِ فِي كُلِّ حَيَوَانٍ حَتَّى النَّمْلَةِ وَنَحْوِهَا.
Chapter: The prohibition against torturing any animal with fire, including ants and similar creatures.
وَإِذَا لَمْ يُمْكِنِ اتِّقَاءُ شَرِّ النَّمْلِ إِلَّا بِمُبِيدٍ يَقْتُلُهَا نِهَائِيًّا، فَلَا بَأْسَ؛ لِأَنَّ هَذَا دَفْعٌ لِأَذَاهَا، وَإِلَّا فَإِنَّ النَّمْلَ مِمَّا نَهَى النَّبِيُّ عَنْ قَتْلِهِ، لَكِنْ إِذَا آذَاكَ وَلَمْ يَنْدَفِعْ إِلَّا بِالْقَتْلِ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِقَتْلِهِ، وَاللَّهُ الْمُوَفِّقُ.
If you cannot avoid the harm caused by ants without using an exterminator to kill them, there is no objection to doing so, as this serves to repel their harm. Generally, the Prophet forbade killing ants, but if they cause you harm that cannot be stopped otherwise, it is permissible to kill them. Allah is the Grantor of success.
أَخْرَجَهُ أَحْمَدُ، وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ كِتَابُ الْأَدَبِ، بَابٌ فِي قَتْلِ الذَّرِّ، وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ: كِتَابُ الصَّيْدِ بَابٌ مَا يُنْهَى عَنْ قَتْلِهِ، مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا.
Recorded by Ahmad; by Abu Dawud in his Book of Etiquette, Chapter on Killing Ants; and by Ibn Majah in his Book of Hunting, Chapter on What is Forbidden to Kill, based on the hadith narrated by Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both.
