مَعْنَى شَدَّ الْمِئْزَرَ، أَنَّهُ يَتَجَنَّبُ النِّسَاءَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ؛ لِأَنَّهُ يَتَفَرَّغُ لِلْعِبَادَةِ، وَكِلَاهُمَا صَحِيحٌ،

(from previous page) ⟵ He woke them up to pray, and he tightened his loincloth, meaning he prepared himself completely for work, because tightening the loincloth means that a person prepares himself for work and strengthens himself. النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَفَرَّغُ لِلْعِبَادَةِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ، وَيُحْيِي اللَّيْلَ كُلَّهُ بِطَاعَةِ اللَّهِ،

During the final ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would dedicate himself to worship, spending the entire night in obedience to Allah.

فَهَذَا مِنَ الْجُودِ بِالنَّفْسِ، لَكِنَّهُ جُودٌ فِي حَقِّ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَاللَّهُ هُوَ الَّذِي يَمُنُّ عَلَى مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ،
