شَرْحُ رِيَاضِ الصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ كَلَامِ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

لِأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ نَهَى أَنْ تُوصَلَ صَلَاةٌ بِصَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ الْإِنْسَانُ أَوْ يَتَكَلَّمَ، وَلِهَذَا قَالَ الْعُلَمَاءُ: يُسَنُّ الْفَصْلُ بَيْنَ الْفَرْضِ وَسُنَّتِهِ بِكَلَامٍ، أَوِ انْتِقَالٍ مِنْ مَوْضِعِهِ.

The Prophet forbade joining one prayer directly to another without first leaving the spot or speaking. Consequently, scholars advise separating the obligatory prayer from its sunnah by speaking or moving to a different location.

وَالْحِكْمَةُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَلَّا يُوصَلَ الْفَرْضُ بِالنَّفَلِ، فَلْيَكُنِ النَّفَلُ وَحْدَهُ، وَالْفَرْضُ وَحْدَهُ حَتَّى لَا يَخْتَلِطَا.

The wisdom here is to prevent the obligatory and supererogatory prayers from merging. Each should remain distinct so they do not become confused with one another.
