بَابُ الْحَيَاءِ وَفَضْلِهِ وَالْحَثِّ عَلَى التَّخَلُّقِ بِهِ. وَمِمَّا يُجَانِبُ الْحَيَاءَ مَا يَفْعَلُهُ بَعْضُ النَّاسِ الْآنَ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ مِنَ الْكَلَامِ الْبَذِيءِ السَّيِّئِ، أَوِ الْأَفْعَالِ السَّيِّئَةِ، أَوْ مَا أَشْبَهَ ذَلِكَ، فَلِذَلِكَ يَجِبُ عَلَى الْإِنْسَانِ أَنْ يَكُونَ حَيِيًّا، إِلَّا فِي أَمْرٍ يَجِبُ عَلَيْهِ مَعْرِفَتُهُ، فَلَا يَسْتَحِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ، وَاللَّهُ الْمُوَفِّقُ.

Chapter on modesty, its virtues, and the importance of cultivating it.
وَمِمَّا يُجَانِبُ الْحَيَاءَ مَا يَفْعَلُهُ بَعْضُ النَّاسِ الْآنَ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ مِنَ الْكَلَامِ الْبَذِيءِ السَّيِّئِ، أَوِ الْأَفْعَالِ السَّيِّئَةِ، أَوْ مَا أَشْبَهَ ذَلِكَ،
Modesty is undermined by the behavior of some people in marketplaces today, whether through foul language, offensive actions, or similar conduct.
فَلِذَلِكَ يَجِبُ عَلَى الْإِنْسَانِ أَنْ يَكُونَ حَيِيًّا، إِلَّا فِي أَمْرٍ يَجِبُ عَلَيْهِ مَعْرِفَتُهُ، فَلَا يَسْتَحِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ، وَاللَّهُ الْمُوَفِّقُ.
One must therefore strive to be modest, though this does not apply when seeking necessary knowledge; one should never be too shy to speak the truth. May Allah grant us success.
