مِنْ كَلَامِ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ، وَكَذَلِكَ مَنْ دُونَهُمْ، لَا يُتَبَرَّكُ بِشَعْرِهِ، وَلَا بِعَرَقِهِ، وَلَا بِثِيَابِهِ، إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ خَاصٌّ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَالشَّاهِدُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَشَارَ إِلَى الْحَلَّاقِ أَنْ يَبْدَأَ بِالْجَانِبِ الْأَيْمَنِ،

Regarding the companions and those below them, one does not seek blessing through their hair, sweat, or garments; that is exclusive to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

وَالشَّاهِدُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَشَارَ إِلَى الْحَلَّاقِ أَنْ يَبْدَأَ بِالْجَانِبِ الْأَيْمَنِ.

The evidence from the hadith of Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, is that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, signaled to the barber to begin with the right side.

فَإِذَا حَجَجْتَ وَأَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَحْلِقَ، أَوْ تُقَصِّرَ، فَابْدَأْ بِالْجَانِبِ الْأَيْمَنِ،

So if you perform Hajj and want to shave or shorten your hair, begin with the right side.
