بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنِ الْبُخْلِ وَالشُّحِّ. وَفِي هَذَا دَلِيلٌ عَلَى أَنَّ الظُّلْمَ مِنْ كَبَائِرِ الذُّنُوبِ؛ لِأَنَّهُ لَا وَعِيدَ إِلَّا عَلَى كَبِيرَةٍ مِنْ كَبَائِرِ الذُّنُوبِ. ثُمَّ قَالَ: (وَاتَّقُوا الشُّحَّ) يَعْنِي الطَّمَعَ فِي حُقُوقِ الْغَيْرِ، اتَّقُوهُ: أَيْ: احْذَرُوا مِنْهُ، وَاجْتَنِبُوهُ: «فَإِنَّ الشُّحَّ أَهْلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ» يَعْنِي مِنَ الْأُمَمِ، حَمَلَهُمْ عَلَى أَنْ سَفَكُوا دِمَاءَهُمْ وَاسْتَحَلُّوا مَحَارِمَهُمْ، فَكَانَ هَلَاكُهُمْ بِذَلِكَ - وَالْعِيَاذُ بِاللَّهِ -.

بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنِ الْبُخْلِ وَالشُّحِّ.
(from previous page) ⟵ Allah Almighty said: “And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be wronged in the least. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as reckoners.”
وَفِي هَذَا دَلِيلٌ عَلَى أَنَّ الظُّلْمَ مِنْ كَبَائِرِ الذُّنُوبِ؛ لِأَنَّهُ لَا وَعِيدَ إِلَّا عَلَى كَبِيرَةٍ مِنْ كَبَائِرِ الذُّنُوبِ.
This demonstrates that injustice is a major sin, as divine warnings are only issued against such grave offenses.
ثُمَّ قَالَ: (وَاتَّقُوا الشُّحَّ) يَعْنِي الطَّمَعَ فِي حُقُوقِ الْغَيْرِ،
He then said, 'Beware of greed,' referring to coveting what belongs to others.
