وَهَذَا يَدُلُّ عَلَى أَنَّ الْعَمَلَ وَالْمِهْنَةَ لَيْسَتْ نَقْصًا؛ لِأَنَّ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ عَلَيْهِمُ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ كَانُوا يُمَارِسُونَهَا، وَلَا شَكَّ أَنَّ هَذَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ سُؤَالِ النَّاسِ،

This indicates that work and profession are not a deficiency, because the prophets, peace and blessings be upon them, used to practice them, and there is no doubt that this is better than asking people.

حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّسُولَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ قَالَ: «لَأَنْ يَأْخُذَ أَحَدُكُمْ حُزْمَةً مِنْ حَطَبٍ عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ فَيَبِيعَهَا -يَعْنِي وَيَأْخُذُ مَا كَسَبَ مِنْهَا- خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ، أَعْطَوْهُ أَوْ مَنَعُوهُ».

Even the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'For one of you to take a bundle of firewood on his back and sell it—meaning, and take what he earns from it—is better for him than to ask people, whether they give him or refuse him.'

وَلَا شَكَّ أَنَّ هَذَا هُوَ الْخُلُقُ النَّبِيلُ، أَلَّا يَخْضَعَ الْإِنْسَانُ لِأَحَدٍ، وَلَا يَذِلَّ لَهُ، بَلْ يَأْكُلُ مِنْ كَسْبِ يَدِهِ، مِنْ تِجَارَتِهِ أَوْ صِنَاعَتِهِ أَوْ حَرْثِهِ.
