بَابُ الْخَوْفِ.

Chapter: Fear.

قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالَى: ﴿وَإِيَّايَ فَارْهَبُونِ﴾، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ﴾، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿وَكَذَلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَى وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُ أَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً لِمَنْ خَافَ عَذَابَ الْآخِرَةِ ذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَجْمُوعٌ لَهُ النَّاسُ وَذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَشْهُودٌ وَمَا نُؤَخِّرُهُ إِلَّا لِأَجَلٍ مَعْدُودٍ يَوْمَ يَأْتِ لَا تَكَلَّمُ نَفْسٌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ فَمِنْهُمْ شَقِيٌّ وَسَعِيدٌ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ شَقُوا فَفِي النَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَشَهِيقٌ﴾، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفْسَهُ﴾، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ﴾، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظِيمٌ يَوْمَ تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّا أَرْضَعَتْ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ حَمْلَهَا وَتَرَى النَّاسَ سُكَارَى وَمَا هُمْ بِسُكَارَى وَلَكِنَّ عَذَابَ اللَّهِ شَدِيدٌ﴾، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ﴾، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ إِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ﴾.

Allah the Exalted says: "Fear Me alone." He also says: "Indeed, the punishment of your Lord is severe." He says: "Such is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes cities while they are committing wrong; His seizure is painful and severe. In this is a sign for those who fear the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a day when all people will be gathered, a day that will be witnessed. We do not delay it except for a limited term. When it arrives, no soul will speak except by His permission. Some will be wretched and others prosperous. As for the wretched, they will be in the Fire, where they will have only gasping and sobbing." He says: "Allah warns you of Himself." He says: "On the day a man will flee from his brother, his mother, his father, his wife, and his children; for every one of them on that day will have a concern that preoccupies him." He says: "O mankind, fear your Lord; for the convulsion of the Hour is a terrible thing. On the day you see it, every nursing mother will be distracted from her infant, and every pregnant woman will miscarry. You will see the people appearing intoxicated, though they are not; rather, the punishment of Allah is severe." He says: "For those who fear the station of their Lord are two gardens." He says: "They will approach one another, asking questions. They will say, 'We used to be fearful among our families. Then Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the scorching fire. We used to call upon Him; He is the Beneficent, the Merciful.'"
