بَابُ التَّوْبَةِ. مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ لَا يُرِيدُ الْقِتَالَ؛ وَلِذَلِكَ لَمْ يَخْرُجْ مَعَهُ إِلَّا ثَلَاثُمِئَةٍ وَبِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا فَقَطْ؛ لِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يَأْخُذُوا عِيرًا لِقُرَيْشٍ، أَيْ: إِبِلٌ مُحَمَّلَةٌ قَدِمَتْ مِنَ الشَّامِ تُرِيدُ مَكَّةَ وَتَمُرُّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ. فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ هَذِهِ الْعِيرَ وَيَأْخُذَهَا، وَذَلِكَ لِأَنَّ أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ أَخْرَجُوا النَّبِيَّ وَأَصْحَابَهُ مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ وَأَمْوَالِهِمْ؛ فَلِهَذَا كَانَتْ أَمْوَالُهُمْ غَنِيمَةً لِلنَّبِيِّ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ وَيَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ لِيَأْخُذَهَا، وَلَيْسَ فِي ذَلِكَ عُدْوَانٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابِهِ، بَلْ هَذَا أَخْذٌ لِبَعْضِ حَقِّهِمْ. خَرَجَ الرَّسُولُ ﷺ فِي ثَلَاثِمِئَةٍ وَبِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا لَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ إِلَّا سَبْعُونَ بَعِيرًا وَفَرَسَانِ فَقَطْ، وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ عُدَّةٌ وَالْعَدَدُ قَلِيلٌ، وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ جَمَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ عَدُوِّهِمْ عَلَى غَيْرِ مِيعَادٍ؛ لِيُنَفِّذَ اللَّهُ مَا أَرَادَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ. فَسَمِعَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ - وَهُوَ قَائِدُ الْعِيرِ - أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ لِيَأْخُذَ الْعِيرَ، فَعَدَلَ عَنْ سَيْرِهِ إِلَى السَّاحِلِ وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى قُرَيْشٍ صَارِخًا يَسْتَنْجِدُهُمْ - أَيْ: يَسْتَغِيثُهُمْ، وَيَقُولُ: هَلُمُّوا أَنْقِذُوا الْعِيرَ. فَاجْتَمَعَتْ قُرَيْشٌ، وَخَرَجَ كُبَرَاؤُهَا وَزُعَمَاؤُهَا وَشُرَفَاؤُهَا فِيمَا بَيْنَ تِسْعِمِئَةٍ إِلَى أَلْفِ رَجُلٍ. خَرَجُوا كَمَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ خَرَجُوا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ بَطَرًا وَرِئَاءَ النَّاسِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ. وَلَمَّا كَانُوا فِي أَثْنَاءِ الطَّرِيقِ وَعَلِمُوا أَنَّ الْعِيرَ نَجَتْ تَرَاجَعُوا فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَقَالُوا: الْعِيرُ نَجَتْ، فَمَا لَنَا وَلِلْقِتَالِ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ: وَاللَّهِ لَا نَرْجِعُ حَتَّى نَقْدَمَ بَدْرًا فَنُقِيمَ فِيهَا.

مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ لَا يُرِيدُ الْقِتَالَ؛ وَلِذَلِكَ لَمْ يَخْرُجْ مَعَهُ إِلَّا ثَلَاثُمِئَةٍ وَبِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا فَقَطْ؛ لِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يَأْخُذُوا عِيرًا لِقُرَيْشٍ، أَيْ: إِبِلٌ مُحَمَّلَةٌ قَدِمَتْ مِنَ الشَّامِ تُرِيدُ مَكَّةَ وَتَمُرُّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ.
(from previous page) ⟵ Al-Bukhari extracted it: Book of Tafsir of the Qur'an, Chapter "And upon the three who were left behind," number (4677), and Muslim, Book of the Prayer of Travelers, Chapter on the desirability of two rak'ahs in the mosque for one who has returned from a journey, number (1650), from Medina, not wanting to fight; and for that reason, only three hundred and ten-odd men went out with him, because they wanted to seize a caravan belonging to Quraish, meaning: camels loaded with goods that had come from Syria, intending Mecca and passing through Medina.
فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ هَذِهِ الْعِيرَ وَيَأْخُذَهَا، وَذَلِكَ لِأَنَّ أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ أَخْرَجُوا النَّبِيَّ وَأَصْحَابَهُ مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ وَأَمْوَالِهِمْ؛ فَلِهَذَا كَانَتْ أَمْوَالُهُمْ غَنِيمَةً لِلنَّبِيِّ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ وَيَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ لِيَأْخُذَهَا، وَلَيْسَ فِي ذَلِكَ عُدْوَانٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابِهِ، بَلْ هَذَا أَخْذٌ لِبَعْضِ حَقِّهِمْ.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to meet this caravan and take it, because the people of Mecca had expelled the Prophet and his companions from their homes and wealth; therefore, their wealth was spoils for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was permissible for him to go out to take it, and there was no aggression in that from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his companions, but rather this was taking some of their right.
خَرَجَ الرَّسُولُ ﷺ فِي ثَلَاثِمِئَةٍ وَبِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا لَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ إِلَّا سَبْعُونَ بَعِيرًا وَفَرَسَانِ فَقَطْ، وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ عُدَّةٌ وَالْعَدَدُ قَلِيلٌ، وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ جَمَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ عَدُوِّهِمْ عَلَى غَيْرِ مِيعَادٍ؛ لِيُنَفِّذَ اللَّهُ مَا أَرَادَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
The Messenger (peace be upon him) went out with three hundred and some ten men, having only seventy camels and two horses, and they had no equipment, and the number was small, but Allah gathered them and their enemy without an appointment, so that Allah might execute what He willed, the Almighty and Majestic.
