الناقِضُ الْخَامِسُ: بِنَفْسِهِ سَارَعُوا وَبَادَرُوا - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَأَرْضَاهُمْ - وَفِي الرِّوَايَةِ الْأُخْرَى أَنَّهُ اسْتَشَارَهَا - يَعْنِي أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ - فَأَخْبَرَهَا فَأَشَارَتْ بِأَنْ يَبْدَأَ بِنَفْسِهِ لِأَنَّهُمْ لَيْسَ قَصْدُهُمُ الْمَعْصِيَةَ وَإِنَّمَا قَصْدُهُمُ رَجَاءُ أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَهُمْ فِي دُخُولِ مَكَّةَ، فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ بَدَأَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَنَحَرَ وَحَلَقَ بَادَرُوا وَرَأَوْا الْأَمْرَ قَدِ انْتَهَى.

The fifth nullifier: They hastened and initiated it by his own self - may Allah be pleased with them and grant them satisfaction - and in the other narration, he consulted her - meaning Umm Salamah - so he informed her, and she advised him to begin with himself because their intention was not disobedience, but rather their intention was the hope that they would be permitted to enter Makkah; so when they saw him begin with himself, slaughter [the sacrificial animal], and shave, they hastened and saw that the matter had concluded.

قَوْلُهُ: قَدِ انْتَهَى أَيْ عَلِمُوا أَنَّهُ أَنْزَلَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى فَلَا مَجَالَ لِلشُّورَى وَحْيٌ.
