الأَصْلُ الثَّانِي: أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِالاجْتِمَاعِ فِي الدِّينِ وَنَهَى عَنِ التَّفَرُّقِ فِيهِ، فَبَيَّنَ اللَّهُ هَذَا بَيَانًا شَافِيًا تَفْهَمُهُ الْعَوَامُّ، وَنَهَانَا أَنْ نَكُونَ كَالَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا وَاخْتَلَفُوا قَبْلَنَا فَهَلَكُوا، وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ أَمَرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بِالاجْتِمَاعِ فِي الدِّينِ وَنَهَاهُمْ عَنِ التَّفَرُّقِ فِيهِ، وَيَزِيدُهُ وُضُوحًا مَا وَرَدَتْ بِهِ السُّنَّةُ مِنَ الْعَجَبِ الْعُجَابِ فِي ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ صَارَ الأَمْرُ إِلَى أَنَّ الاِفْتِرَاقَ فِي أُصُولِ الدِّينِ وَفُرُوعِهِ هُوَ الْعِلْمُ وَالْفِقْهُ فِي الدِّينِ، وَصَارَ الاجْتِمَاعُ فِي الدِّينِ لا يَقُولُهُ إِلا زِنْدِيقٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ.

The second principle: Allah commanded unity in religion and forbade division within it, and Allah explained this in a clear, healing explanation that the common people understand, and He forbade us from being like those who divided and differed before us and were destroyed, and He mentioned that He commanded the Muslims to unite in religion and forbade them from dividing within it, and what has been reported in the Sunnah regarding this—which is truly wondrous—adds to its clarity, then the matter reached the point where division in the fundamentals and branches of religion is considered knowledge and jurisprudence in religion, and unity in religion is only advocated by a heretic or a madman.

الشَّرْحُ: الأَصْلُ الثَّانِي مِنَ الأُصُولِ الَّتِي سَاقَهَا الشَّيْخُ - رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى - الاجْتِمَاعُ فِي الدِّينِ وَالنَّهْيُ عَنِ التَّفَرُّقِ فِيهِ، وَهَذَا الأَصْلُ الْعَظِيمُ قَدْ دَلَّ عَلَيْهِ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى، وَسُنَّةُ رَسُولِهِ، وَعَمَلُ الصَّحَابَةِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَالسَّلَفُ الصَّالِحُ رَحِمَهُمُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى:

Explanation: The second of the principles that the Sheikh—may Allah the Exalted have mercy on him—presented is unity in religion and the prohibition of division within it, and this great principle has been indicated by the Book of Allah the Exalted, the Sunnah of His Messenger, the practice of the Companions—may Allah be pleased with them—and the righteous predecessors—may Allah the Exalted have mercy on them.

أَمَّا كِتَابُ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: فَقَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ -: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلا تَفَرَّقُوا وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنْتُمْ أَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُمْ بِنِعْمَتِهِ إِخْوَانًا وَكُنْتُمْ عَلَى شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِنَ النَّارِ

As for the Book of Allah the Exalted, Allah—the Almighty and Majestic—said: 'O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims. And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you—when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire.'
