التَّصْغِيرُ
(from previous page) ⟵ The past tense verb 'taraqa' (left), its subject is 'duna', an adverbial phrase related to an omitted state (hal) from the subject, and 'duna' is in a genitive construction, and 'libsin' is the genitive noun; and 'nadura' is a past tense verb, 'ilhaq' is the subject of 'nadura', and 'ilhaq' is in a genitive construction, and here, it is shortened for necessity: a genitive noun; and in 'fima', it is a prepositional phrase related to his saying 'nadura' (the previous one); 'thulathiyan' is an object that preceded its verb—which is his saying 'kathura al-ati'—'kathura' is a past tense verb, and its subject is a pronoun hidden within it permissibly, estimated as 'huwa' (it) referring to 'ma', the relative pronoun which is in the genitive position; and the sentence consisting of 'kathura' and its hidden subject has no grammatical place, as it is the relative clause of the relative pronoun: the diminutive.
وَشَدَّ أَيْضاً لِحَاقُ التَّاءِ فِيمَا زَادَ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةِ أَحْرُفٍ ، كَقَوْلِهِمْ فِي « قُدَامٍ » قُدَيْدِيمَةٌ
It is also irregular to append the ta' to what exceeds three letters, as in their saying for 'qudam': 'qudaydimah'.
وَصَغِّرُوا شُذُوذًا: «الَّذِي، الَّتِي وَذَا» مَعَ الْفُرُوعِ مِنْهَا «تَا، وَتِي»
Irregularly, diminish the relative pronouns 'alladhi', 'allati', 'dha', and their derivatives like 'ta' and 'ti'.
