عِلْمُ الْمَعَانِي ( الْبَابُ الثَّانِي : فِي الذِّكْرِ وَالْحَذْفِ ) وَخُلَاصَةُ بَابِ الذِّكْرِ وَالْحَذْفِ أَنَّ الْأَصْلَ فِي الْكَلَامِ أَنْ يَكُونَ اللَّفْظُ مُسَاوِيًا لِلْمَعْنَى. وَقَدْ يَزِيدُ اللَّفْظُ عَلَى الْمَعْنَى، وَقَدْ يَزِيدُ الْمَعْنَى عَلَى اللَّفْظِ، فَزِيَادَةُ الْمَعْنَى عَلَى اللَّفْظِ مَعْنَاهُ : أَنَّنَا حَذَفْنَا شَيْئًا مِنَ اللَّفْظِ، وَزِيَادَةُ اللَّفْظِ عَلَى الْمَعْنَى مَعْنَاهُ: أَنَّنَا زِدْنَا فِي اللَّفْظِ مَا لَا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ. وَلَا زِيَادَةَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ الْكَرِيمِ، فَالزَّائِدُ إِعْرَابًا زَائِدٌ مَعْنًى أَوْ نَقُولُ: «الزَّائِدُ زَائِدٌ».

وَخُلَاصَةُ بَابِ الذِّكْرِ وَالْحَذْفِ أَنَّ الْأَصْلَ فِي الْكَلَامِ أَنْ يَكُونَ اللَّفْظُ مُسَاوِيًا لِلْمَعْنَى.
The essence of this chapter is that, fundamentally, language should balance wording with meaning.
وَقَدْ يَزِيدُ اللَّفْظُ عَلَى الْمَعْنَى، وَقَدْ يَزِيدُ الْمَعْنَى عَلَى اللَّفْظِ، فَزِيَادَةُ الْمَعْنَى عَلَى اللَّفْظِ مَعْنَاهُ : أَنَّنَا حَذَفْنَا شَيْئًا مِنَ اللَّفْظِ، وَزِيَادَةُ اللَّفْظِ عَلَى الْمَعْنَى مَعْنَاهُ: أَنَّنَا زِدْنَا فِي اللَّفْظِ مَا لَا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ.
At times, the wording outweighs the meaning, or the meaning outweighs the wording. When meaning exceeds wording, it signifies that we have omitted part of the expression. Conversely, when wording exceeds meaning, it signifies that we have included unnecessary elements.
