الْحَدِيثُ الثَّانِي: «بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ جُلُوسٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ» رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِمَّنْ يَخْطُبُ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّبِيِّ، وَكَانَ جَهْوَرِيَّ الصَّوْتِ، فَلَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ بَقِيَ فِي بَيْتِهِ يَبْكِي لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ قَدْرَ الْقُرْآنِ الْكَرِيمِ، فَفَقَدَهُ النَّبِيُّ يَا اللَّهُ لِأَنَّ مِنْ عَادَةِ الرَّسُولِ ﷺ أَنْ يَتَفَقَّدَ أَصْحَابَهُ، وَهَذَا مِنْ حُسْنِ رِعَايَتِهِ لِلَّهِ، فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُ فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ مُنْذُ أُنْزِلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ وَهُوَ فِي بَيْتِهِ يَبْكِي لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا، فَقَالَ ﷺ: «اذْهَبْ فَادْعُهُ لِي» فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ: «مَا يُبْكِيكَ يَا ثَابِتُ؟» فَقَالَ: أَنَا صَيِّتٌ وَأَتَخَوَّفُ أَنْ تَكُونَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ نَزَلَتْ فِيَّ، لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ: أَن تَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالُكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّسُولُ ﷺ: «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَعِيشَ حَمِيدًا، وَتُقْتَلَ شَهِيدًا، وَتَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ»، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، كُلُّ مَنْ خَافَ مِنَ اللَّهِ أَمِنَ، فَهُوَ بَقِيَ فِي بَيْتِهِ خَائِفًا مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلَكِنْ أَمَّنَهُ اللَّهُ، وَلِهَذَا يَجِبُ عَلَيْنَا وُجُوبًا أَنْ نَشْهَدَ أَنَّ ثَابِتَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، لِأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ أَخْبَرَ بِهَذَا. فَبَقِيَ الرَّجُلُ حَمِيدًا فِي حَيَاتِهِ وَشَارَكَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي قِتَالِ مُسَيْلِمَةَ الْكَذَّابِ، وَغَزْوَةُ مُسَيْلِمَةَ الْكَذَّابِ مَعْرُوفَةٌ وَمَشْهُورَةٌ فِي التَّارِيخِ، وَقُتِلَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ شَهِيدًا، وَيَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ، اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ. وَقَعَ فِي قِصَّتِهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَيْضًا مَسْأَلَةٌ غَرِيبَةٌ: مَرَّ بِهِ أَحَدُ الْجُنُودِ وَهُوَ مَيِّتٌ وَعَلَى ثَابِتٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ دِرْعٌ جَيِّدٌ، فَأَخَذَ الْجُنْدِيُّ الدِّرْعَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ بِهِ إِلَى رَحْلِهِ وَجَعَلَ عَلَيْهِ بُرْمَةً - الْبُرْمَةُ قِدْرٌ مِنَ الْخَزَفِ - وَفِي اللَّيْلِ رَأَى أَحَدُ...

The second hadith: 'While we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) one day'—he (may Allah be pleased with him) was among those who would speak before the Prophet, and he had a loud voice; when this verse was revealed, he remained in his house weeping night and day, may Allah be pleased with him; these are those who know the value of the Holy Quran. The Prophet missed him—O Allah—because it was the habit of the Messenger (peace be upon him) to check on his companions, and this is part of his excellent care for the sake of Allah. So he asked about him, and they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the man has been in his house weeping night and day ever since Allah the Almighty revealed this verse.' He (peace be upon him) said: 'Go and call him for me.' He came to the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said to him: 'What makes you weep, O Thabit?' He replied: 'I am a loud-voiced man, and I fear that this verse was revealed about me, because Allah the Almighty says: "Lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not."' The Messenger (peace be upon him) said to him: 'Are you not pleased to live a praiseworthy life, be killed as a martyr, and enter Paradise?' Allah is the Greatest; everyone who feared Allah found security. He remained in his house fearing Allah the Almighty, but Allah granted him security. Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to bear witness that Thabit ibn Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) is among the people of Paradise, because the Prophet foretold this.
فَبَقِيَ الرَّجُلُ حَمِيدًا فِي حَيَاتِهِ وَشَارَكَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي قِتَالِ مُسَيْلِمَةَ الْكَذَّابِ، وَغَزْوَةُ مُسَيْلِمَةَ الْكَذَّابِ مَعْرُوفَةٌ وَمَشْهُورَةٌ فِي التَّارِيخِ، وَقُتِلَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ شَهِيدًا، وَيَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ، اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ.
The man remained praiseworthy throughout his life and participated with the Muslims in the battle against Musaylimah the Liar, and the battle of Musaylimah the Liar is well-known and famous in history. He was killed (may Allah be pleased with him) as a martyr, and he shall enter Paradise; O Allah, make us among the people of Paradise, O Lord of the worlds.
وَقَعَ فِي قِصَّتِهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَيْضًا مَسْأَلَةٌ غَرِيبَةٌ: مَرَّ بِهِ أَحَدُ الْجُنُودِ وَهُوَ مَيِّتٌ وَعَلَى ثَابِتٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ دِرْعٌ جَيِّدٌ، فَأَخَذَ الْجُنْدِيُّ الدِّرْعَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ بِهِ إِلَى رَحْلِهِ وَجَعَلَ عَلَيْهِ بُرْمَةً - الْبُرْمَةُ قِدْرٌ مِنَ الْخَزَفِ - وَفِي اللَّيْلِ رَأَى أَحَدُ...
