فَأَسْرَعَ جُحَا عَائِدًا إِلَى الْبَيْتِ، وَخَلَعَ عَنْهُ رِدَاءَهُ الْعَتِيقَ وَارْتَدَى آخَرَ جَدِيدًا أَنِيقًا، وَأَسْرَعَ عَائِدًا إِلَى الْوَلِيمَةِ.

Juha hurried home, shed his old robe, donned a new, elegant one, and rushed back to the feast.

فَلَمَّا وَصَلَ، اسْتَقْبَلَهُ الْقَوْمُ بِالتِّرْحَابِ وَجَلَسَ إِلَى الْمَائِدَةِ، فَمَلأَ صَحْنَهُ بِأَلْوَانِ الطَّعَامِ، ثُمَّ أَرْخَى رِدَاءَهُ فِي الصَّحْنِ وَقَالَ: كُلْ يَا رِدَائِي مِنْ هَذَا الدَّجَاجِ الْمُحَمَّرِ وَالسَّمَكِ الْمُبَهَّرِ.

Upon his arrival, the guests welcomed him. He sat at the table and filled his plate with an assortment of dishes, then let his sleeve hang into the food, saying, 'Eat, my robe, have some of this roasted chicken and spiced fish.'

فَصَاحَ الْحَاضِرُونَ فِي دَهْشَةٍ مِنْ هَذَا التَّصَرُّفِ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِتَرَدُّدٍ رَادًّا عَلَيْهِمْ بِأَنَّ التَّقْدِيرَ كَانَ لِرِدَائِهِ؛ لِذَا فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِالطَّعَامِ مِنْهُ.
