نَوْعَا الجُمْلَةِ:

The two types of sentences:

الجُمْلَةُ الاسْمِيَّةُ: وَهِيَ الَّتِي تَبْدَأُ بِاسْمٍ وَلَهَا رُكْنَانِ أَسَاسِيَّانِ: المُبْتَدَأُ وَالخَبَرُ وَهُمَا مَرْفُوعَانِ دَائِمًا.

The nominal sentence: This begins with a noun and consists of two fundamental parts: the subject (mubtada') and the predicate (khabar), both of which are always in the nominative case (marfu').

(الطَّالِبَةُ مُجْتَهِدَةٌ).

(The student is diligent.)

الجُمْلَةُ الفِعْلِيَّةُ: وَهِيَ الَّتِي تَبْدَأُ بِفِعْلٍ وَلَهَا رُكْنَانِ أَسَاسِيَّانِ: فِعْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى حُدُوثٍ، وَفَاعِلٌ يُحْدِثُ الفِعْلَ.

The verbal sentence: This begins with a verb and consists of two fundamental parts: a verb indicating an action, and a subject (fa'il) who performs that action.

وَقَدْ يَأْتِي فِي الجُمْلَةِ مَفْعُولٌ بِهِ إِذَا كَانَ الفِعْلُ مُتَعَدِّيًا.

A direct object (maf'ul bihi) may also appear in the sentence if the verb is transitive.

شَكَرَ المُؤْمِنُ اللهَ.

The believer thanked God.

التَّدْرِيبُ الأَوَّلُ:

Exercise One:

أُهْدِي ثَنَائِي وَتَقْدِيرِي لِأُمِّي وَأَبِي، وَأَلْتَمِسُ مِنَ اللهِ العَوْنَ وَالتَّوْفِيقَ لِلْوَفَاءِ بِحُقُوقِهِمَا، امْتِثَالًا لِدَعْوَةِ القُرْآنِ الكَرِيمِ بِاحْتِرَامِهِمَا، وَالإِحْسَانِ إِلَيْهِمَا.

I dedicate my praise and appreciation to my mother and father, and I ask God for the help and success to fulfill my duties toward them, in accordance with the Holy Quran's call to respect and treat them with kindness.

فَكَمْ عَانَتْ أُمِّي فِي حَمْلِي وَرِعَايَتِي، وَسَهِرَتِ اللَّيَالِيَ عِنْدَمَا أُحِسُّ بِأَلَمٍ، وَكَمْ آثَرَتْنِي عَلَى نَفْسِهَا.

My mother suffered greatly carrying and raising me, staying up nights whenever I was in pain, and she always put my needs before her own.

وَشُكْرًا لِأَبِي فَقَدْ وَفَّرَ لِيَ الحَيَاةَ الكَرِيمَةَ، وَكَانَ نِعْمَ الأَبُ وَالقُدْوَةُ.

Thanks are also due to my father, who provided me with a decent life and served as an excellent father and role model.

سَأَجْتَهِدُ فِي دُرُوسِي لِأَرُدَّ مَعْرُوفَهُمَا، وَسَوْفَ أَبَرُّهُمَا طَوَالَ حَيَاتِي.

I will work hard in my studies to repay their kindness, and I will remain dutiful to them throughout my life.
