أَعْجَبَنِي فِعْلُ أَبِي وَزَادَنِي فَخْرًا بِهِ، وَبَعْدَ عَوْدَتِهِ إِلَى السَّيَّارَةِ قُلْتُ لَهُ: لَقَدْ قُمْتَ بِعَمَلٍ جَمِيلٍ يَا أَبِي. الْوَالِدُ: هَذَا وَاجِبٌ عَلَيْنَا جَمِيعًا يَا بُنَيَّ، فَمِنْ حَقِّ الْكِبَارِ عَلَيْنَا أَنْ نَحْتَرِمَهُمْ وَنُوَقِّرَهُمْ؛ فَقَدْ قَالَ نَبِيُّنَا الْكَرِيمُ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا، وَيُوَقِّرْ كَبِيرَنَا»، وَهُوَ خَيْرُ قُدْوَةٍ لَنَا فِي ذَلِكَ.

أَعْجَبَنِي فِعْلُ أَبِي وَزَادَنِي فَخْرًا بِهِ، وَبَعْدَ عَوْدَتِهِ إِلَى السَّيَّارَةِ قُلْتُ لَهُ: لَقَدْ قُمْتَ بِعَمَلٍ جَمِيلٍ يَا أَبِي.
My father’s actions pleased me and made me even prouder of him. Once he returned to the car, I said, "That was a wonderful thing to do, Father."
الْوَالِدُ: هَذَا وَاجِبٌ عَلَيْنَا جَمِيعًا يَا بُنَيَّ، فَمِنْ حَقِّ الْكِبَارِ عَلَيْنَا أَنْ نَحْتَرِمَهُمْ وَنُوَقِّرَهُمْ.
Father replied, "It is a duty we all share, my son. We owe it to our elders to respect and honor them."
فَقَدْ قَالَ نَبِيُّنَا الْكَرِيمُ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا، وَيُوَقِّرْ كَبِيرَنَا»، وَهُوَ خَيْرُ قُدْوَةٍ لَنَا فِي ذَلِكَ.
Our noble Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, "He is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young and respect our elders." He is our finest example in this.
