عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: قَدِمَ نَاسٌ مِنَ الأَعْرَابِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا: أَتُقَبِّلُونَ صِبْيَانَكُمْ؟ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالُوا: لَكِنَّا وَاللهِ مَا نُقَبِّلُ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَوَ أَمْلِكُ إِنْ كَانَ اللهُ نَزَعَ مِنْ قُلُوبِكُمُ الرَّحْمَةَ. مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ. عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ، إِذْ جَاءَهُ الحُسَيْنُ، فَرَكِبَ عُنُقَهُ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ، فَأَطَالَ السُّجُودَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ حَتَّى ظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ قَدْ حَدَثَ أَمْرٌ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ، سَأَلُوهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ: إِنَّ ابْنِي ارْتَحَلَنِي، فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أُعْجِلَهُ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ حَاجَتَهُ. رَوَاهُ النَّسَائِيُّ.

- عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: قَدِمَ نَاسٌ مِنَ الأَعْرَابِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا: أَتُقَبِّلُونَ صِبْيَانَكُمْ؟
- Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, reported: Some Bedouins came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and asked, "Do you kiss your children?"
- فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالُوا: لَكِنَّا وَاللهِ مَا نُقَبِّلُ.
- He replied, "Yes." They said, "But by Allah, we do not."
- فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَوَ أَمْلِكُ إِنْ كَانَ اللهُ نَزَعَ مِنْ قُلُوبِكُمُ الرَّحْمَةَ.
- The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, responded, "What can I do if Allah has removed mercy from your hearts?"
- عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ، إِذْ جَاءَهُ الحُسَيْنُ، فَرَكِبَ عُنُقَهُ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ، فَأَطَالَ السُّجُودَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ حَتَّى ظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ قَدْ حَدَثَ أَمْرٌ.
- Abdullah bin Shaddad, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: While the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was leading the people in prayer, Al-Hussein came and climbed onto his neck while he was prostrating. He remained in prostration for so long that the people thought something had happened.
- فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ، سَأَلُوهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ: إِنَّ ابْنِي ارْتَحَلَنِي، فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أُعْجِلَهُ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ حَاجَتَهُ.
- When he finished the prayer, they asked him about it, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "My son mounted me, and I did not want to rush him until he was finished."
