فَقَالَ الْحَاكِمُ: إِنَّهُ ذَكَرَ لِي أَنَّكَ تَزْعُمُ أَنَّ لِفَمِي رَائِحَةً كَرِيهَةً. قَالَ الرَّجُلُ: مَا قُلْتُ ذَلِكَ. فَقَالَ الْحَاكِمُ: فَلِمَ وَضَعْتَ يَدَكَ عَلَى فَمِكَ؟ قَالَ: لِأَنَّهُ أَطْعَمَنِي طَعَاماً، فِيهِ نَوْمٌ، فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ تَشُمَّهُ. عِنْدَئِذٍ، قَالَ الْحَاكِمُ لِهَذَا الرَّجُلِ الطَّيِّبِ الْحَكِيمِ: صَدَقْتَ، ارْجِعْ مَكَانَكَ، فَقَدْ كَفَى الْمُسِيءَ إِسَاءَتُهُ. (مَوْسُوعَةُ الْأَخْلَاقِ: يَاسِرُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، بِتَصَرُّفٍ)
