بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّصِّ: مَرَارَةُ أَبٍ.

Introduction: A father's bitterness.

أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ شَاعِرٌ مُخَضْرَمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الطَّائِفِ، عَاشَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ، وَهُوَ وَاسِعُ الثَّقَافَةِ مُتَعَدِّدُ الْأَغْرَاضِ، لَهُ دِيوَانُ شِعْرٍ مَطْبُوعٌ.

Umayyah ibn Abi al-Salt was a poet from Taif who lived through both the pre-Islamic and Islamic eras. A man of wide-ranging culture and diverse themes, his collected poems have been published.

وَفِي قَصِيدَتِهِ الَّتِي بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا، يَرْسُمُ الشَّاعِرُ صُورَةً حَيَّةً تُعَبِّرُ عَنْ حَالَةٍ اجْتِمَاعِيَّةٍ، قَدْ تَظْهَرُ أَحْيَانًا، وَهِيَ عُقُوقُ الْأَبْنَاءِ آبَاءَهُمْ، مَعَ أَنَّ الْآبَاءَ لَا يُقَابِلُونَ ذَلِكَ بِغَيْرِ الْإِشْفَاقِ دُونَ أَنْ يَقْسُوَ مِنْهُمْ قَلْبٌ وَلِسَانٌ.
