صِفَةٌ مُشْتَرَكَةٌ بَيْنَ المُشَبَّهِ وَالمُشَبَّهِ بِهِ، وَهُوَ مَا يُسَمَّى وَجْهَ الشَّبَهِ.

A shared attribute between the subject and the object of comparison, known as the aspect of resemblance.

أَدَاةٌ لِلرَّبْطِ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيِ التَّشْبِيهِ، وَتُسَمَّى أَدَاةَ التَّشْبِيهِ.

A connector between the two sides of the simile, known as the simile marker.

فَهَذِهِ الأَجْزَاءُ الأَرْبَعَةُ الَّتِي يَقُومُ عَلَيْهَا التَّشْبِيهُ تُسَمَّى أَرْكَانَ التَّشْبِيهِ.

These four components that form the basis of a simile are called the pillars of the simile.

نَعُودُ إِلَى المِثَالَيْنِ (٣، ٤)، وَنُبَيِّنُ أَرْكَانَ التَّشْبِيهِ فِيهِمَا.

Returning to examples (3) and (4), we will identify the pillars of the simile within them.

نَسْتَنْتِجُ: ١ - التَّشْبِيهُ: عَقْدُ مُقَارَنَةٍ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْنِ أَوْ شَيْئَيْنِ يَشْتَرِكَانِ فِي صِفَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، بِاسْتِخْدَامِ أَدَاةٍ لِلتَّشْبِيهِ.

Conclusion: 1 - Simile: A comparison between two things that share a common attribute, using a simile marker.

٢ - أَرْكَانُ التَّشْبِيهِ أَرْبَعَةٌ: أ - المُشَبَّهُ: الشَّيْءُ المُرَادُ تَشْبِيهُهُ.

2 - The four pillars of the simile are: A - The subject: The thing being described.

ب - المُشَبَّهُ بِهِ: الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي نُرِيدُ أَنْ نُقَارِنَ بِهِ المُشَبَّهَ.

B - The object of comparison: The thing to which the subject is being compared.

وَيُسَمَّى المُشَبَّهُ وَالمُشَبَّهُ بِهِ طَرَفَيِ التَّشْبِيهِ، وَلَا يَجُوزُ حَذْفُ أَيٍّ مِنْهُمَا.

The subject and the object of comparison are called the two sides of the simile, and neither may be omitted.

ج - أَدَاةُ التَّشْبِيهِ: وَتَكُونُ حَرْفاً، مِثْلَ: (الكَافُ، كَأَنَّ)، أَوْ اسْماً، مِثْلَ: (شِبْهٌ، مِثْلٌ، شَبِيهٌ...)، أَوْ فِعْلاً، مِثْلَ: (يُشْبِهُ، يُحَاكِي...).

C - The simile marker: This can be a particle, such as 'ka' (like) or 'ka'anna' (as if); a noun, such as 'shibh' (resemblance), 'mithl' (like), or 'shabih' (similar); or a verb, such as 'yushbihu' (resembles) or 'yuhaki' (mimics).

د - وَجْهُ الشَّبَهِ: الصِّفَةُ الَّتِي يَشْتَرِكُ فِيهَا المُشَبَّهُ وَالمُشَبَّهُ بِهِ، وَتَكُونُ فِي المُشَبَّهِ بِهِ أَقْوَى وَأَظْهَرَ.

D - The aspect of resemblance: The attribute shared by the subject and the object of comparison, which is more intense and prominent in the object of comparison.
