نَمُوذَجٌ: يَشْتَدُّ الْحَرُّ فِي الصَّيْفِ.

Example: The heat intensifies in the summer.

يَشْتَدُّ: فِعْلٌ مُضَارِعٌ مَرْفُوعٌ بِالضَّمَّةِ.

Yashtaddu (intensifies): A present tense verb marked with a damma.

الْحَرُّ: فَاعِلٌ مَرْفُوعٌ بِالضَّمَّةِ.

Al-harru (the heat): The subject, marked with a damma.

فِي: حَرْفُ جَرٍّ مَبْنِيٌّ عَلَى السُّكُونِ.

Fi (in): A preposition indeclinable on a sukun.

الصَّيْفِ: مَجْرُورٌ بِـ (فِي) وَعَلَامَةُ جَرِّهِ الْكَسْرَةُ.

As-sayfi (the summer): Governed by the genitive case by (fi), and its genitive sign is the kasra.

أَعْرِبِ الْجُمَلَ الْآتِيَةَ:

Parse the following sentences:

لَمْ يُدْرِكْ عَلِيٌّ الْقِطَارَ.

(1) Ali did not catch the train.

حَضَرَ الطَّبِيبُ إِلَى الْمَنْزِلِ.

(2) The doctor came to the house.

النَّارُ مُشْتَعِلَةٌ فِي الْحَطَبِ.

(3) The fire is burning in the wood.
