Line-by-line translation · المعاني

قَالَ الشَّاعِرُ: إِذَا لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ شَيْئاً فَدَعْهُ وَجَاوِزْهُ إِلَى مَا تَسْتَطِيعُ.

The poet said: If you cannot do a thing, then leave it and pass it by to what you can do.

وَإِذَا رَحِمْتَ فَأَنْتَ أُمٌّ أَوْ أَبٌ.

And if you show mercy, then you are a mother or a father.

أَدْخِلْ (إِذَا) فِي جُمْلَتَيْنِ عَلَى أَنْ يَكُونَ جَوَابُهَا خَالِياً مِنَ الْفَاءِ.
