Line-by-line translation ·
- Finish Abu Talib's account.
- He pictured the Messenger wading with his companions through the depths of death.
- It would not be long before the leaders and chiefs of Quraish became mere followers.
- Their houses would fall to ruin, and their weak would rise as masters and lords.
- His intuition was proven right.
- It became a certainty, beyond any doubt.
- It was as if he were reading the unseen in a written book!
- Then what did he say?
- The most arrogant among them toward him are the ones most in need of him.
- The furthest among them from him are the most lowly in his eyes.
- The Arabs have given him their sincere affection, devoted their hearts to him, and entrusted him with their leadership.
- Indeed, there is magic in eloquence!
- Did I not tell you both that his uncle spoke as if he were voicing the unseen?
- He was a man of sharp intuition.
- What do you mean by that?
- A man of sharp intuition, as the Arabs define him, is someone intelligent and insightful, whose hunches are never wrong.
- From the logic and causes of events, he discerns their ultimate outcomes and ends.
- He speaks of things he has not seen.
- He speaks like one who has seen and heard.
- He is the one whose intuition is as clear as if he had seen and heard it all himself!
- How much the Messenger endured for his cause, and how long he remained patient in his mission!
- They often raised their hideous voices.
- They harassed him with caterwauling and howling.
- And with vile insults.
- And the barking of dogs.
