ذلك، ويزداد إيمانهم عند دفع المعارض والشبه. فَتُخْبِتَ لَهُ قُلُوبُهُمْ} أي: تخشع وتخضع، وتسلم لحكمته، وهذا من هدايته إياهم، {وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهَادِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بسبب إيمانهم إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ} علم بالحق، وعمل بمقتضاه فيثبت الله الذين آمنوا بالقول الثابت في الحياة الدنيا وفي الآخرة، وهذا النوع من تثبيت الله لعبده. وهذه الآيات، فيها بيان أن للرسول - صلى الله عليه وسلم - أسوة بإخوانه المرسلين، لما وقع منه عند قراءته ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم -: سورة النجم فلما بلغ أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ اللَّاتَ وَالْعُزَّى وَمَنَاةَ الثَّالِثَةَ الْأُخْرَى} ألقى الشيطان في قراءته " تلك الغرانيق العلى وإن شفاعتهن لترتجى " فحصل بذلك للرسول حزن وللناس فتنة كما ذكر الله فأنزل الله هذه الآيات. 55 - 57 {وَلا يَزَالُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِنْهُ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَقِيمٍ * الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ * وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا فَأُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ} يخبر تعالى عن حالة الكفار، وأنهم لا يزالون في شك مما جئتهم به یا محمد لعنادهم، وإعراضهم، وأنهم لا يبرحون مستمرين على هذه الحال { حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً} أي: مفاجأة أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ يَوْمٍ عَقِيمٍ أي: لا خير فيه، وهو يوم القيامة، فإذا جاءتهم الساعة، أو أتاهم ذلك اليوم، علم الذين كفروا أنهم كانوا كاذبين، وندموا حيث لا ينفعهم الندم، وأبلسوا وأيسوا من كل خير وودوا لو آمنوا بالرسول واتخذوا معه سبيلا، ففي هذا تحذيرهم من إقامتهم على مريتهم وفريتهم. الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أي : يوم القيامة {لِلَّهِ تعالى لا لغيره، {يَحْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بحكمه العدل، وقضائه الفصل، فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بالله ورسله وما جاءوا به {وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ} ليصدقوا بذلك إيمانهم { فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ} نعيم القلب والروح والبدن مما لا يصفه الواصفون ولا تدركه العقول. { وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بالله ورسله وكذبوا بآياته الهادية للحق والصواب فأعرضوا عنها ، أو عاندوها، فَأُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ لهم من شدته وألمه وبلوغه للأفئدة كما استهانوا برسله ، وآياته، أهانهم الله بالعذاب. 58 - 59 {وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قُتِلُوا أَوْ مَاتُوا لَيَرْزُقَنَّهُمُ اللَّهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ لَيُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ مُدْخَلًا يَرْضَوْنَهُ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٌ} هذه بشارة كبرى، لمن هاجر في سبيل الله، فخرج من داره ووطنه وأولاده وماله ابتغاء وجه الله، ونصرة

ذَلِكَ، وَيَزْدَادُ إِيمَانُهُمْ عِنْدَ دَفْعِ الْمُعَارِضِ وَالشُّبَهِ.
(from previous page) ⟵ And those whose hearts are hard, meaning the harsh ones, which are not affected by rebuke or reminder, and do not understand from God and His Messenger due to their hardness. So when they hear what Satan casts, they make it an argument for their falsehood, and they dispute with it and oppose God and His Messenger. That is why He said: "And indeed, the wrongdoers are in a far schism," meaning opposition to God, and stubbornness against the truth, and disagreement with it, far from what is right. So what Satan casts becomes a trial for these two groups, and through it, the hidden evil in their hearts is revealed. As for the third group, it becomes a mercy for them, and they are mentioned in His saying: "And that those who have been given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord," because God has granted them knowledge by which they distinguish truth from falsehood and guidance from error. So they differentiate between the two matters: the established truth that God confirms, and the transient falsehood that God abrogates, based on the evidence for each. And that they may know that God is wise, who ordains some types of trials, so that the hidden good and evil within souls may be revealed, and they may believe in Him because of that, and their faith may increase when opposing arguments and doubts are repelled.
فَتُخْبِتَ لَهُ قُلُوبُهُمْ} أَيْ: تَخْشَعُ وَتَخْضَعُ، وَتُسَلِّمُ لِحِكْمَتِهِ، وَهَذَا مِنْ هِدَايَتِهِ إِيَّاهُمْ، {وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهَادِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِسَبَبِ إِيمَانِهِمْ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ} عِلْمٌ بِالْحَقِّ، وَعَمَلٌ بِمُقْتَضَاهُ فَيُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ، وَهَذَا النَّوْعُ مِنْ تَثْبِيتِ اللَّهِ لِعَبْدِهِ.
"So that their hearts may humble themselves before Him," meaning they become humble, submissive, and surrender to His wisdom. This is part of His guidance to them: "And indeed, Allah is the Guide of those who have believed, by virtue of their faith, to a straight path," which is knowledge of the truth and acting accordingly. Thus, Allah strengthens those who believe with the firm word in this life and in the Hereafter; this is one way Allah strengthens His servant.
وَهَذِهِ الْآيَاتُ، فِيهَا بَيَانٌ أَنَّ لِلرَّسُولِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أُسْوَةً بِإِخْوَانِهِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ، لَمَّا وَقَعَ مِنْهُ عِنْدَ قِرَاءَتِهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -: سُورَةَ النَّجْمِ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ {أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ اللَّاتَ وَالْعُزَّى وَمَنَاةَ الثَّالِثَةَ الْأُخْرَى} أَلْقَى الشَّيْطَانُ فِي قِرَاءَتِهِ " تِلْكَ الْغَرَانِيقُ الْعُلَى وَإِنَّ شَفَاعَتَهُنَّ لَتُرْتَجَى " فَحَصَلَ بِذَلِكَ لِلرَّسُولِ حُزْنٌ وَلِلنَّاسِ فِتْنَةٌ كَمَا ذَكَرَ اللَّهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ هَذِهِ الْآيَاتِ.
These verses explain that the Messenger (peace be upon him) shares an experience with his fellow messengers. It concerns what happened when he recited Surah An-Najm; when he reached, "Have you considered Al-Lat and Al-Uzza and Manat, the third, the other one?" Satan cast into his recitation, "Those are the exalted cranes, and their intercession is to be hoped for." The Messenger felt sadness because of this, and it became a trial for the people, as Allah mentioned, so He revealed these verses.
