الفَهْمُ القِرَائِيُّ.

Reading Comprehension.

١ أَمْلَأُ الفَرَاغَاتِ الآتِيَةَ بِمَا يُنَاسِبُهَا مِنَ النَّصِّ: صَنَادِيقُ مُفْرَدُهَا، أَحْفَادٌ مُفْرَدُهَا، شَجَرَةٌ جَمْعُهَا، جَدْرٌ جَمْعُهَا.

1. Fill in the blanks with the appropriate words from the text: the singular of 'sanadeeq' (boxes), the singular of 'ahfad' (grandchildren), the plural of 'shajara' (tree), and the plural of 'jadhr' (root).

٢ أَتَعَاوَنُ أَنَا وَزُمَلَائِي عَلَى مَلْءِ الفَرَاغَاتِ بِكَلِمَاتٍ مِنَ النَّصِّ تَنْتَمِي إِلَى الوَطَنِ: الحَقْلُ، الوَطَنُ.

2. Work with your classmates to fill in the blanks with words from the text related to the homeland: field, homeland.

٣ أَتَحَدَّثُ أَنَا وَزُمَلَائِي عَنِ الحُلُولِ الوَارِدَةِ فِي النَّصِّ لِكُلٍّ مِمَّا يَأْتِي: مَاذَا يَحْدُثُ لَوْ تَهَدَّمَتْ دُورُنَا؟ مَاذَا يَحْدُثُ لَوْ يَبِسَتِ الأَشْجَارُ؟

3. Discuss with your classmates the solutions mentioned in the text for the following: What would happen if our houses were destroyed? What would happen if the trees dried up?

٤ أُعَبِّرُ بِجُمْلَةٍ عَمَّا تَعَلَّمْتُهُ مِنَ النَّصِّ.

4. Write a sentence expressing what you learned from the text.

٥ أُكْمِلُ الفَرَاغَيْنِ الآتِيَيْنِ بِمَا يُنَاسِبُ كُلًّا مِنْهُمَا: بَدَا عَلَى جُودٍ وَهُوَ يَقِفُ أَمَامَ أَشْجَارِ الزَّيْتُونِ، بَدَا عَلَى الجَدَّةِ وَهِيَ تَحْمِلُ حَفْنَةَ التُّرَابِ شُعُورُ.

5. Complete the following two blanks with appropriate descriptions: Jude appeared [feeling] while standing in front of the olive trees; the grandmother appeared [feeling] while holding a handful of soil.

٦ أُمَيِّزُ الحَقِيقَةَ مِنَ الرَّأْيِ: كَمْ مِنَ التَّضْحِيَاتِ قَدَّمَهَا أَجْدَادُكَ لِيَبْقَى هَذَا التُّرَابُ حُرًّا طَاهِرًا! الدَّارُ هِيَ الأَهَمُّ فِي الصُّورَةِ.

6. Distinguish fact from opinion: How many sacrifices your ancestors made so that this land would remain free and pure! The house is the most important element in the picture.

٧ أَخْتَارُ عِبَارَةً أَعْجَبَتْنِي مِنَ النَّصِّ، وَأُبَيِّنُ السَّبَبَ.
