شَرْحُ رِيَاضِ الصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ كَلَامِ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ صَلَّى
اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
فَمَا مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ فَتَحَ بَابَهُ لِلْمُعَزِّينَ أَبَدًا، وَمَا اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى الْأَكْلِ، بَلْ كَانُوا يُعِدُّونَ
هَذَا مِنَ النِّيَاحَةِ، وَيَبْتَعِدُونَ عَنْهُ أَشَدَّ الْبُعْدِ؛ لِأَنَّ النِّيَاحَةَ كَمَا سَمِعْتُمْ كُفْرٌ، يَعْنِي مِنْ
خِصَالِ الْكُفْرِ، وَلِأَنَّ الرَّسُولَ لَعَنَ النَّائِحَةَ وَالْمُسْتَمِعَةَ. وَاللَّهُ الْمُوَفِّقُ.

- A Commentary on Riyadh as-Salihin, drawn from the words of the Master of the Messengers, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
- فَمَا مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ فَتَحَ بَابَهُ لِلْمُعَزِّينَ أَبَدًا، وَمَا اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى الْأَكْلِ، بَلْ كَانُوا يُعِدُّونَ هَذَا مِنَ النِّيَاحَةِ، وَيَبْتَعِدُونَ عَنْهُ أَشَدَّ الْبُعْدِ؛ لِأَنَّ النِّيَاحَةَ كَمَا سَمِعْتُمْ كُفْرٌ، يَعْنِي مِنْ خِصَالِ الْكُفْرِ، وَلِأَنَّ الرَّسُولَ لَعَنَ النَّائِحَةَ وَالْمُسْتَمِعَةَ.
- None of them ever opened their doors to receive condolences, nor did they gather to eat together. They regarded such gatherings as a form of ritual wailing and strictly avoided them, for as you have heard, wailing is a trait of disbelief. Furthermore, the Messenger cursed both the woman who wails and the one who listens to her.
- وَاللَّهُ الْمُوَفِّقُ.
