بَابُ تَحْرِيمِ احْتِقَارِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ. الْغَيْرِ
(from previous page) ⟵ Meaning, who is it that swears to me that I will not forgive so-and-so, while grace is in the hand of God, who bestows it upon whom He wills? Indeed, I have forgiven him, and I have nullified your deeds." We seek refuge in God, he spoke a word that ruined his worldly life and his afterlife and destroyed him; because he said that, being pleased with himself, despising his brother, so he swore that God would not forgive him. So God forgave this man because his sins were less than polytheism, or because God Almighty bestowed His grace upon him and he repented. As for the other, He nullified his deeds because he was pleased with his deeds, and we seek refuge in God, and he swore by his Lord, and he swore to Him that He would not forgive so-and-so. God Almighty is perfect in authority, no one can swear by Him, but if a person has good thoughts about his Lord, and swears by God in a matter that does not involve aggression against the chapter on the prohibition of despising Muslims.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'Many a disheveled person, turned away from people's doors, would have his oath honored if he were to swear by Allah.'
وَاللهُ الْمُوَفِّقُ.
Allah is the Grantor of success.
