بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ.

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ، نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ، وَنَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا، وَسَيِّئَاتِ أَعْمَالِنَا،

All praise belongs to Allah. We praise Him, seek His help, and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our own souls and our wicked deeds.

مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللَّهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ، وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ،

Whoever Allah guides, none can lead astray; whoever He leaves to stray, none can guide.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ،

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, having no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ، وَمَنْ تَبِعَهُمْ بِإِحْسَانٍ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ، وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيمًا كَثِيرًا.

May Allah send blessings upon him, his family, and all his companions, as well as those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment, and may He grant them abundant peace.

أَمَّا بَعْدُ: فَلَقَدْ كَانَ مِنَ الْأَعْمَالِ الْجَلِيلَةِ لِصَاحِبِ الْفَضِيلَةِ شَيْخِنَا الْوَالِدِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ الْعُثَيْمِينِ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عِنَايَتُهُ الْبَالِغَةُ بِتَدْرِيسِ كُتُبِ الْحَدِيثِ وَتِبْيَانِ مَعَانِي نُصُوصِهَا، وَاسْتِنْبَاطِ الْأَحْكَامِ الشَّرْعِيَّةِ مِنْهَا، وَتَقْرِيبِهَا لِعُمُومِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ.

To proceed: Among the noble endeavors of our virtuous father and teacher, Muhammad bin Salih al-Uthaymeen—may Allah have mercy upon him—was his profound dedication to teaching Hadith literature, clarifying the meaning of its texts, deriving legal rulings from them, and making these accessible to the general public.

وَمِنْ ذَلِكَ: شُرُوحَاتُهُ لِكِتَابِ رِيَاضِ الصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ كَلَامِ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ لِمُؤَلِّفِهِ الْحَافِظِ مُحْيِي الدِّينِ أَبِي زَكَرِيَّا يَحْيَى بْنِ شَرَفٍ النَّوَوِيِّ، الْمُتَوَفَّى عَامَ (٦٧٦هـ) -

A prime example of this was his commentary on 'Riyad as-Salihin' (The Gardens of the Righteous) by the Master of Messengers, authored by the Hafiz Muhyi ad-Din Abu Zakariya Yahya bin Sharaf an-Nawawi, who passed away in 676 AH.

تَغَمَّدَهُ اللَّهُ بِوَاسِعِ رَحْمَتِهِ وَرِضْوَانِهِ وَأَسْكَنَهُ فَسِيحَ جَنَّاتِهِ، وَجَزَاهُ عَنِ الْإِسْلَامِ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ خَيْرًا.

May Allah envelop him in His vast mercy and pleasure, grant him a place in His spacious gardens, and reward him abundantly on behalf of Islam and the Muslims.

كَانَ - رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى - يَعْتَنِي بِهَذَا الْكِتَابِ وَيَنْصَحُ بِقِرَاءَتِهِ وَيُؤَكِّدُ ذَلِكَ بِقَوْلِهِ: «إِنَّ كِتَابَ رِيَاضِ الصَّالِحِينَ كِتَابٌ مُوَافِقٌ لِاسْمِهِ، فَإِنَّهُ رِيَاضٌ لِأَهْلِ الصَّلَاحِ فِيهِ مِنَ الْأَحْكَامِ الشَّرْعِيَّةِ وَالْآدَابِ الْمَرْعِيَّةِ مَا يَزِيدُ بِهِ إِيمَانُ الْعَبْدِ وَيَسْتَقِيمُ بِهِ سَيْرُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَمُعَامَلَتُهُ مَعَ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ؛

He held this book in high regard, frequently recommending it and emphasizing its value by saying: 'Riyad as-Salihin is a book that truly lives up to its name; it is a garden for the righteous. It contains legal rulings and essential manners that strengthen a servant's faith, guide his conduct toward Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, and refine his interactions with others.'

وَلِهَذَا كَانَ بَعْضُ النَّاسِ يَحْفَظُهُ عَنْ ظَهْرِ قَلْبٍ لِمَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْمَنْفَعَةِ الْعَظِيمَةِ، فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَبْرَكِ مَا رَأَيْتُ مِنَ الْكُتُبِ فِي انْتِفَاعِ النَّاسِ بِهِ مِمَّا يَدُلُّ عَلَى حُسْنِ نِيَّةِ مُؤَلِّفِهِ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى.

Because of its immense utility, many have memorized it by heart. It is one of the most blessed books I have ever encountered in terms of the benefit people derive from it, which serves as a testament to the sincerity of its author, may Allah have mercy upon him.
