إِذَا كَانَ تَامًّا مُوجَبًا يَجِبُ النَّصْبُ عَلَى كُلِّ اللُّغَاتِ.

When the sentence is complete and affirmative, the accusative case is mandatory across all linguistic schools.

إِذَا كَانَ تَامًّا مَنْفِيًّا جَازَ الْوَجْهَانِ: الْبَدَلُ، وَالنَّصْبُ عَلَى الِاسْتِثْنَاءِ، مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ مُنْقَطِعًا،

If it is complete but negative, two options are permitted: using it as a substitute or keeping it in the accusative case for exception, provided it is not disconnected.
