أَقْرَأُ النَّصَّ الْآتِيَ قِرَاءَةً مُعَبِّرَةً

Read the following text with expression.

زَادَ الِاهْتِمَامُ بِاسْتِخْدَامِ مَفَاهِيمِ الْإِدَارَةِ وَالْقِيَادَةِ فِي مُخْتَلَفِ الْمَجَالَاتِ عَلَى مُسْتَوَى الْعَالَمِ

Global interest in applying management and leadership concepts has grown across various fields.

لِتَحْسِينِ الْإِنْتَاجِيَّةِ وَالْجَوْدَةِ تَحْسِينًا مُسْتَمِرًّا، بِتَكَاتُفِ فِرَقِ الْعَمَلِ

This aims to continuously improve productivity and quality through the cooperation of work teams.

وَتَحَقَّقَتْ مَبَادِئُ الْقِيَادَةِ، وَتَوْجِيهُ النَّشَاطِ الْإِنْسَانِيِّ فِي قِصَّةِ ذِي الْقَرْنَيْنِ

Leadership principles and the direction of human activity are exemplified in the story of Dhu al-Qarnayn.

فَقَدْ وَرَدَتِ الْقِصَّةُ فِي سُورَةِ الْكَهْفِ مِنْ آيَةِ ٨٤ إِلَى الْآيَةِ ٩٨

The story is recounted in Surah Al-Kahf, verses 84 through 98.

وَطَافَ بِجَيْشِهِ الْأَرْضَ، وَآتَاهُ اللَّهُ عِلْمًا وَعَمِلَ بِهِ وَبِالْأَسْبَابِ ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَ سَبَبًا

He traveled the earth with his army; God granted him knowledge, which he applied alongside the necessary means, following every path he encountered.

حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ بَيْنَ السَّدَّيْنِ وَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمَا قَوْمًا لَا يَكَادُونَ يَفْقَهُونَ قَوْلًا

Upon reaching a pass between two mountains, he found a people who could barely understand his speech.

أَخْبَرُوهُ أَنَّهُمْ ضِعَافٌ، وَتُغِيرُ عَلَيْهِمْ قَبَائِلُ مُفْسِدَةٌ، تُدْعَى يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ

They told him they were weak and were being raided by corrupt tribes called Gog and Magog.

وَطَلَبُوا مِنْهُ أَنْ يَفْصِلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ تِلْكَ الْقَبَائِلِ بِسَدٍّ

They asked him to build a barrier to separate them from those tribes.

قَالُوا يَا ذَا الْقَرْنَيْنِ إِنَّ يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ مُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَهَلْ نَجْعَلُ لَكَ خَرْجًا عَلَى أَن تَجْعَلَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمْ سَدًّا

They said, "O Dhu al-Qarnayn, Gog and Magog are corrupting the land. May we pay you a tribute if you build a barrier between us and them?"

فَقَدْ كَانَ قَائِدًا يَمْلِكُ مَهَارَاتِ الِاسْتِمَاعِ، لَمْ يَعْتَذِرْ لَهُمْ بِعَدَمِ فَهْمِ مَا يَقُولُونَ

He was a leader who possessed strong listening skills and did not dismiss them for their inability to communicate clearly.

بَلْ أَجَابَهُمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمُعِينُ وَالدَّالُّ عَلَى كُلِّ خَيْرٍ

Instead, he replied that God is the Helper and the Guide to all that is good.

قَالَ مَا مَكَّنِّي فِيهِ رَبِّي خَيْرٌ

He said, "What my Lord has established for me is better."

طَلَبُوا مِنْهُ أَنْ يَبْنِيَ سَدًّا، فَاخْتَارَ الْأَفْضَلَ لَهُمْ، وَهُوَ الرَّدْمُ

When they asked him to build a dam, he chose the superior option: a reinforced barrier.

فَقَدْ تَسُدُّ بِئْرًا مَهْجُورَةً بِقِطْعَةِ خَشَبٍ، أَوْ وَضْعِ قِطْعَةِ حَدِيدٍ فَوْقَهُ، لَكِنَّهَا لَنْ تَدُومَ

You might block an abandoned well with a piece of wood or iron, but it will not last.

أَمَّا الرَّدْمُ فَيَكُونُ بِإِلْقَاءِ التُّرَابِ وَالْحِجَارَةِ فِيهَا حَتَّى تُسَوَّى بِالْأَرْضِ

A proper barrier is built by filling the space with soil and stones until it is level with the ground.

فَالرَّدْمُ أَفْضَلُ وَإِنْ كَانَ أَصْعَبَ، فَأَعْلَنَ لَهُمْ خُطَّتَهُ أَجْعَلْ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ رَدْمًا

Though more difficult, the barrier is superior, so he announced his plan: "I will build a barrier between you and them."

لِأَنَّ إِدَارَةَ الْجَوْدَةِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِدَارَةٌ قِيَمِيَّةٌ تَحُثُّ عَلَى إِعْطَاءِ الْمُسْتَفِيدِ أَجْوَدَ الْمُخْرَجَاتِ وَأَفْضَلَ الْبَدَائِلِ

Quality management in Islam is value-based, urging that the beneficiary be provided with the highest quality outputs and the best possible alternatives.

فَاخْتَارَ لِلرَّدْمِ الْحَدِيدَ وَالنُّحَاسَ، وَلَمْ يَخْتَرِ الْخَشَبَ وَالْحِجَارَةَ

He chose iron and copper for the barrier, rather than wood or stone.

فَالْجَوْدَةُ الشَّامِلَةُ تَعْنِي عَدَمَ الْعِنَايَةِ بِقِلَّةِ التَّكْلِفَةِ، وَسُهُولَةِ الْعَمَلِ عَلَى حِسَابِ جَوْدَةِ الْمُخْرَجَاتِ

Total quality means prioritizing the excellence of the output over minimizing costs or choosing the easiest path.

آتُونِي زُبَرَ الْحَدِيدِ حَتَّى إِذَا سَاوَى بَيْنَ الصَّدَفَيْنِ قَالَ انْفُخُوا حَتَّى إِذَا جَعَلَهُ نَارًا قَالَ آتُونِي أُفْرِغْ عَلَيْهِ قِطْرًا

"Bring me blocks of iron." When he had leveled the space between the two mountain walls, he said, "Blow," and when he had made it like fire, he said, "Bring me molten copper to pour over it."
