أَنْوَاعُ الْجُمُوعِ. جَمْعُ الْمُذَكَّرِ السَّالِمِ: مَا دَلَّ عَلَى أَكْثَرَ مِنِ اثْنَيْنِ بِزِيَادَةِ وَاوٍ وَنُونٍ أَوْ يَاءٍ وَنُونٍ عَلَى مُفْرَدِهِ، مُعَلِّمٌ: مُعَلِّمُونَ وَمُعَلِّمِينَ، مُهَنْدِسٌ: مُهَنْدِسُونَ وَمُهَنْدِسِينَ. جَمْعُ الْمُؤَنَّثِ السَّالِمِ: مَا دَلَّ عَلَى أَكْثَرَ مِنِ اثْنَتَيْنِ بِزِيَادَةِ أَلِفٍ وَتَاءٍ عَلَى مُفْرَدِهِ، طَيِّبَةٌ: طَيِّبَاتٌ، مُعَلِّمَةٌ: مُعَلِّمَاتٌ. جَمْعُ التَّكْسِيرِ: مَا دَلَّ عَلَى أَكْثَرَ مِنِ اثْنَيْنِ أَوْ اثْنَتَيْنِ بِانْكِسَارِ صُورَةِ مُفْرَدِهِ، بِزِيَادَةِ حَرْفٍ: رَجُلٌ / رِجَالٌ، نُقْصَانِ حَرْفٍ: كِتَابٌ / كُتُبٌ، تَغْيِيرٍ فِي الضَّبْطِ: أَسَدٌ / أُسْدٌ. الْمُذَكَّرُ مَا دَلَّ عَلَى مُذَكَّرٍ، الْمُؤَنَّثُ مَا دَلَّ عَلَى مُؤَنَّثٍ. الْمُذَكَّرُ يَصِحُّ أَنْ نُشِيرَ إِلَيْهِ بِـ (هَذَا) مِثْلُ: تِلْمِيذٌ، كِتَابٌ. وَالْمُؤَنَّثُ يَصِحُّ أَنْ نُشِيرَ إِلَيْهِ بِـ (هَذِهِ) مِثْلُ: تِلْمِيذَةٌ، مِسْطَرَةٌ. مُفْرَدٌ: مَا دَلَّ عَلَى وَاحِدٍ أَوْ وَاحِدَةٍ (مُعَلِّمٌ، مُعَلِّمَةٌ). أَقْسَامُ الِاسْمِ مِنْ حَيْثُ الْعَدَدِ: مُثَنَّى مَا دَلَّ عَلَى اثْنَيْنِ أَوْ اثْنَتَيْنِ (مُعَلِّمَانِ، مُعَلِّمَتَانِ)، جَمْعٌ: مَا دَلَّ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةٍ فَأَكْثَرَ (مُعَلِّمُونَ، مُعَلِّمَاتٌ، طُلَّابٌ). مُرَاجَعَةُ الْمُكْتَسَبَاتِ السَّابِقَةِ.

Types of plurals.
جَمْعُ الْمُذَكَّرِ السَّالِمِ: مَا دَلَّ عَلَى أَكْثَرَ مِنِ اثْنَيْنِ بِزِيَادَةِ وَاوٍ وَنُونٍ أَوْ يَاءٍ وَنُونٍ عَلَى مُفْرَدِهِ، مُعَلِّمٌ: مُعَلِّمُونَ وَمُعَلِّمِينَ، مُهَنْدِسٌ: مُهَنْدِسُونَ وَمُهَنْدِسِينَ.
Sound masculine plural: a form indicating more than two by adding a waw and nun or a ya and nun to the singular; for example, teacher becomes teachers (nominative) or teachers (accusative/genitive), and engineer becomes engineers (nominative) or engineers (accusative/genitive).
جَمْعُ الْمُؤَنَّثِ السَّالِمِ: مَا دَلَّ عَلَى أَكْثَرَ مِنِ اثْنَتَيْنِ بِزِيَادَةِ أَلِفٍ وَتَاءٍ عَلَى مُفْرَدِهِ، طَيِّبَةٌ: طَيِّبَاتٌ، مُعَلِّمَةٌ: مُعَلِّمَاتٌ.
Sound feminine plural: a form indicating more than two by adding an alif and ta to the singular; for example, good (female) becomes good (females), and teacher (female) becomes teachers (females).
جَمْعُ التَّكْسِيرِ: مَا دَلَّ عَلَى أَكْثَرَ مِنِ اثْنَيْنِ أَوْ اثْنَتَيْنِ بِانْكِسَارِ صُورَةِ مُفْرَدِهِ، بِزِيَادَةِ حَرْفٍ: رَجُلٌ / رِجَالٌ، نُقْصَانِ حَرْفٍ: كِتَابٌ / كُتُبٌ، تَغْيِيرٍ فِي الضَّبْطِ: أَسَدٌ / أُسْدٌ.
Broken plural: a form indicating more than two (masculine or feminine) by changing the structure of the singular, such as adding a letter (man / men), omitting a letter (book / books), or changing the diacritics (lion / lions).
الْمُذَكَّرُ مَا دَلَّ عَلَى مُذَكَّرٍ، الْمُؤَنَّثُ مَا دَلَّ عَلَى مُؤَنَّثٍ.
The masculine indicates a male, while the feminine indicates a female.
الْمُذَكَّرُ يَصِحُّ أَنْ نُشِيرَ إِلَيْهِ بِـ (هَذَا) مِثْلُ: تِلْمِيذٌ، كِتَابٌ.
One can correctly refer to a masculine noun using 'hadha' (this), such as: student, book.
وَالْمُؤَنَّثُ يَصِحُّ أَنْ نُشِيرَ إِلَيْهِ بِـ (هَذِهِ) مِثْلُ: تِلْمِيذَةٌ، مِسْطَرَةٌ.
