بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّصِّ: كَلِيلَةُ وَدِمْنَةُ كِتَابٌ يَتَضَمَّنُ حِكَايَاتٍ تُرْشِدُ إِلَى الحِكْمَةِ وَالأَخْلَاقِ، يَرْوِيهَا الفَيْلَسُوفُ (بَيْدَبَا) عَلَى أَلْسِنَةِ الحَيَوَانَاتِ.

Introduction: Kalila and Dimna is a collection of fables offering moral and practical wisdom, told by the philosopher Bidpai through the voices of animals.

وَيَعُودُ الكِتَابُ إِلَى أُصُولٍ هِنْدِيَّةٍ، تَرْجَمَهُ وَعَرَّبَهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ المُقَفَّعِ مِنَ اللُّغَةِ الفَارِسِيَّةِ إِلَى اللُّغَةِ العَرَبِيَّةِ.
