الْقِراءَةُ. الْفَأْرَةُ وَالثُّعْبانُ. دَخَلَ ثُعْبانٌ جُحْرَ فَأْرَةٍ، وَرَفَضَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ مِنْهُ، فَكَّرَتِ الْفَأْرَةُ فِي حِيلَةٍ لِإِخْراجِ الثُّعْبانِ مِنْ بَيْتِها، نَظَرَتْ حَوْلَهَا، فَوَجَدَتْ رَجُلاً نائِماً تَحْتَ ظِلِّ شَجَرَةٍ، أَسْرَعَتْ إِلَيْهِ، وَأَخَذَتْ تَقْفِزُ عَلى وَجْهِهِ، فَنَهَضَ الرَّجُلُ غَاضِباً، وَظَلَّ يُطارِدُها حَتَّى وَصَلَتْ بِهِ إِلى جُحْرِها. انْدَهَشَ الرَّجُلُ عِنْدَمَا رَأَى الثُّعْبانَ، فَنَسِيَ الْفَأْرَةَ، وَتَناوَلَ عَصاهُ، وَضَرَبَ الثُّعْبانَ، فَقَتَلَهُ. سُرَّتِ الْفَأْرَةُ لِخَلاصِها مِنَ الثُّعْبانِ، وَدَخَلَتْ بَيْتَها سَعِيدَةً مُطْمَئِنَّةً.
