وَطَنٌ يَسْكُنُ فِينَا.

A homeland that lives inside us.

اتَّفَقَ يَاسِرٌ وَأُخْتُهُ عَبِيرُ عَلَى الْمُشَارَكَةِ فِي مُسَابَقَةٍ صَحَفِيَّةٍ؛ لِكِتَابَةِ مَقَالَةٍ عَنْ فِلَسْطِينَ.

Yasser and his sister Abeer agreed to enter a journalism competition to write an article about Palestine.

عَبِيرُ: مَاذَا سَنَكْتُبُ فِي الْمَقَالَةِ؟

Abeer: What should we write about in the article?

يَاسِرُ: سَنَكْتُبُ عَنِ الْوَطَنِ الَّذِي يَسْكُنُ فِينَا، وَلَا نَسْكُنُ فِيهِ.

Yasser: We will write about the homeland that lives inside us, even though we do not live in it.

عَبِيرُ: وَكَيْفَ سَنَكْتُبُ عَنْ وَطَنٍ لَا نَسْتَطِيعُ الْوُصُولَ إِلَيْهِ؟

Abeer: How can we write about a homeland we cannot reach?

يَاسِرُ: نَسْأَلُ الْجَدَّ، وَالْجَدَّةَ، وَكِبَارَ السِّنِّ عَنْ عَكَّا، وَحَيْفَا، وَيَافَا، وَصَفَدَ، وَغَيْرِهَا.

Yasser: We will ask our grandparents and the elders about Acre, Haifa, Jaffa, Safed, and other places.

عَبِيرُ: لَنْ نَنْسَى أَنْ نُعَبِّرَ عَنْ حُلْمِنَا، وَحَقِّنَا فِي الْعَوْدَةِ إِلَى وَطَنِنَا، وَالْعَيْشِ فِيهِ.

Abeer: We must not forget to express our dream and our right to return to our homeland and live there.
