لَقَدْ كَانَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ يُوصِي نَفْسَهُ، كَمَا يُوصِي غَيْرَهُ، بِاتِّبَاعِ الْحَقِّ، لَا تَأْخُذُهُ فِي ذَلِكَ هَوَادَةٌ.

Each of them would urge himself, just as he urged others, to follow the truth, unwavering in his commitment.

كَانُوا يَسْتَعْذِبُونَ الْمَوْتَ فِي سَبِيلِ ذَلِكَ.

They found death sweet in the pursuit of that goal.

إِنَّ مَنْ يَتَتَبَّعُ حَيَاةَ الرَّسُولِ ﷺ وَصَحَابَتِهِ لَحْظَةً بَعْدَ لَحْظَةٍ، مِنْ بَدْئِهَا إِلَى نِهَايَتِهَا، لَيَرَى إِلَى أَيِّ مَدًى كَانُوا يَتَوَاصَوْنَ بِالْحَقِّ.

Anyone who follows the life of the Messenger (peace be upon him) and his companions, moment by moment, from beginning to end, will see the extent to which they exhorted one another to uphold the truth.

الْحَقِّ وَحْدَهُ، وَلَا يَهْدِفُونَ إِلَى غَيْرِهِ، وَكَيْفَ كَانُوا يَسْتَمِيتُونَ فِي إِحْقَاقِ الْحَقِّ، وَالدِّفَاعِ عَنْهُ، وَإِزْهَاقِ الْبَاطِلِ، وَالتَّوَقِّي مِنْهُ؛ كَلَّفَهُمْ ذَلِكَ مَا كَلَّفَهُمْ مِنْ أَمْوَالٍ وَأَرْوَاحٍ.

They aimed for nothing else, fighting to the death to establish the truth, defend it, eradicate falsehood, and guard against it, regardless of the cost in wealth or life.

وَهَلْ كَانَ جِهَادُ الرَّسُولِ ﷺ وَصَحَابَتِهِ إِلَّا تَحْقِيقًا لِهَذِهِ الْغَايَةِ النَّبِيلَةِ؟!

Was the struggle of the Messenger (peace be upon him) and his companions anything but the realization of this noble goal?

صَدَقْتَ.

You speak the truth.

وَفِي سَبِيلِ ذَلِكَ أُزْهِقَتْ أَرْوَاحُ الصَّفْوَةِ مِنْ أَطْهَارِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَأَبْرَارِ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ.

In that cause, the lives of the elite among the purest Muslims and the most righteous fighters were sacrificed.

أَمَّا التَّوَاصِي بِالصَّبْرِ، فَقَدْ تَجَلَّى فِي كُلِّ غَزْوَةٍ مِنْ غَزَوَاتِهِمْ، وَفِي كُلِّ أَزْمَةٍ مِنْ مُحْرِجَاتِ الْأَزَمَاتِ الَّتِي اعْتَرَضَتْهُمْ.

As for their mutual exhortation to patience, it was evident in every one of their expeditions and every critical crisis they faced.

كَانَتْ مَآزِقَ مُحْرِجَةً، تُزْهِقُ النُّفُوسَ، وَتُمَزِّقُ الْأَجْسَامَ.

These were harrowing predicaments that claimed lives and tore bodies apart.

جَزَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا، يَا «رَشَادُ»، بِمِقْدَارِ مَا أَحْسَنْتَ إِلَيْنَا بِهَذِهِ التَّوْجِيهَاتِ.

May Allah reward you well, Rashad, for the kindness you have shown us with these insights.

إِنَّهَا، أَيُّهَا الصَّدِيقَانِ الْعَزِيزَانِ، نَفَحَاتٌ مِنْ ذِكْرَى الْمَوْلِدِ السَّعِيدِ، جَدِيرَةٌ أَنْ تَمْلَأَ الدُّنْيَا هَدْيًا وَنُورًا.

My dear friends, these are but breaths from the memory of that blessed birth, worthy of filling the world with guidance and light.

بَارَكَ اللهُ فِيكَ، وَسَدَّدَ خُطَاكَ، وَنَفَعَنَا اللهُ بِمَا أَنَرْتَهُ لَنَا مِنْ سُبُلِ الْهِدَايَةِ وَالسَّعَادَةِ.

May Allah bless you, guide your steps, and may we benefit from the paths of guidance and happiness you have illuminated for us.

نَفَعَنَا اللهُ جَمِيعًا بِمَا غَرَسَهُ الرَّسُولُ الْكَرِيمُ ﷺ مِنْ قَوِيمِ الْمَبَادِئِ وَعَظِيمِ الْخِصَالِ.

May Allah benefit us all through the upright principles and noble traits planted by the Messenger (peace be upon him).

اللَّهُمَّ آمِينَ.

O Allah, answer our prayer.

آمِينَ آمِينَ لَا أَرْضَى بِوَاحِدَةٍ حَتَّى أُضِيفَ إِلَيْهَا أَلْفَ آمِينَا!

Amen, Amen—I am not satisfied with one, so I shall add a thousand more!
