وَنُعِيدُ مَحَاسِنَ مَاضِينَا، الْيَوْمَ نَسُودُ بِوَادِينَا، وَنُشَيِّدُ بِالْحَقِّ نُؤَيِّدُهُ وَبِعَزْمِهِ وَنُزَيِّنُهُ بِمَآثِرِنَا وَمَسَاعِينَا. نَتَّخِذُ الشَّمْسَ لَهُ تَاجًا وَضُحَاهَا عَرْشًا وَوَهَّاجًا. سَعْيًا أَبَدًا سَعْيًا سَعْيًا لِأَثِيلِ الْمَجْدِ وَلِلْعَلْيَا، وَلْتَجْعَلْ مِصْرَ هِيَ الدُّنْيَا وَلْتَجْعَلْ مِصْرَ هِيَ الدُّنْيَا. أَحْمَد شَوْقِي: شَاعِرٌ مِصْرِيٌّ مِنْ أَشْهَرِ شُعَرَاءِ الْعَصْرِ الْحَدِيثِ، لُقِّبَ بِأَمِيرِ الشُّعَرَاءِ، وُلِدَ بِالْقَاهِرَةِ عَامَ ١٨٧٠م، وَتُوُفِّيَ عَامَ ١٩٣٢م. دَرَسَ فِي مِصْرَ، وَتَعَلَّمَ الْآدَابَ وَالْقَانُونَ فِي فَرِنْسَا. مِنْ أَشْهَرِ دَوَاوِينِهِ دِيوَانُ (الشَّوْقِيَّات)، وَفِيهِ قَصَائِدُ رَائِعَةٌ عَنِ الْوَطَنِ وَالْمُجْتَمَعِ وَالتَّارِيخِ. الْمُفْرَدَاتُ الْجَدِيدَةُ: نَسُودُ: نَكُونُ أَسْيَادًا عُظَمَاءَ. وَادِينَا: الْمَقْصُودُ: مِصْر. نُشَيِّدُهُ: نَبْنِيهِ. مَسَاعِينَا: الْمَقْصُودُ: أَعْمَالِنَا، وَالْمُفْرَدُ: مَسْعًى. تَاجٌ: الْجَمْعُ: تِيجَانٌ. وَهَّاجًا: الْمَقْصُودُ: شَدِيدُ اللَّمَعَانِ. أَثِيلٌ: أَصِيلٌ. الْعَلْيَا (الْعَلْيَاءُ): الْقِمَّةُ.
