إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْجُمَلَ تُؤَكِّدُ أَنَّ الْمِصْرِيِّينَ الْقُدَمَاءَ احْتَرَمُوا نَهْرَ النِّيلِ وَعَرَفُوا قِيمَتَهُ وَأَهَمِّيْتَهُ فِي حَيَاتِهِمْ، وَعَبَّرُوا عَنْ ذَلِكَ قَائِلِينَ: «إِنَّ الْخَيْرَ الَّذِي يَجْلِبُهُ النِّيلُ أَكْثَرُ نَفْعًا مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ، وَأَعْظَمُ قَدْرًا مِنَ الْجَوَاهِرِ»، وَكَانُوا يَحْتَفِلُونَ كُلَّ عَامٍ بِعِيدِ وَفَاءِ النِّيلِ، وَإِلَى الْآنَ يَحْتَفِلُ الْمِصْرِيُّونَ يَوْمَ ١٥ أَغُسْطُس مِنْ كُلِّ عَامٍ بِهَذَا الْعِيدِ.

These sentences confirm that the ancient Egyptians respected the Nile, recognizing its value and importance to their lives. They expressed this by saying, 'The bounty the Nile brings is more beneficial than gold and silver, and worth more than jewels.' They celebrated the Wafaa El-Nil festival every year, a tradition Egyptians continue to observe on August 15th.

وَالآنَ، هَلْ نَسْتَطِيعُ - نَحْنُ أَيْضًا - أَنْ نَعْتَرِفَ أَنَّنَا لَمْ نُلَوِّثْ مَاءَ النَّهْرِ؟

Now, can we, too, honestly say that we have not polluted the river's water?

شُكْرًا لَكُمْ؛ لِأَنَّكُمْ لَمْ تُلْقُوا الْمُخَلَّفَاتِ فِي نَهْرِ النَّيلِ.

Thank you for not dumping waste into the Nile.

شُكْرًا لَكُم؛ لِأَنَّكُمُ اقْتَصَدْتُمْ فِي اسْتِخْدَامِ مِيَاهِ النَّيلِ.

Thank you for using the Nile's water sparingly.

شُكْرًا لَكُمْ؛ لِأَنَّكُمْ عَرَفْتُمْ أَهَمِّيَّةَ نَهْرِ النِّيلِ وَحَقَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ.

Thank you for recognizing the importance of the Nile and the duty you owe it.

الْمُفْرَدَاتُ الْجَدِيدَةُ: مَوْسِمُهُ: وَقْتُ ظُهُورِهِ، وَالْجَمْعُ: مَوَاسِمُ.
