الْوَحْدَةُ الْأُولَى: أَخْلَاقِي تَصْنَعُ عَالَمِي.

Unit One: My character shapes my world.

أَتَحَدَّثُ بِطَلَاقَةٍ.

I speak fluently.

تَحَدِّي الدَّقِيقَةِ الْوَاحِدَةِ.

The one-minute challenge.

بِكَلِمَةٍ أَسْعِدُ غَيْرِي.

A single word can bring joy to others.

الْكَلِمَاتُ لَهَا أَثَرٌ كَبِيرٌ عَلَى نُفُوسِ الْآخَرِينَ، فَقَدْ تُسْعِدُهُمْ، وَقَدْ تُضَايِقُهُمْ.

Words have a profound effect on people; they can bring happiness or cause distress.

قِفْ أَمَامَ زُمَلَائِكَ، وَتَحَدَّثْ لِمُدَّةِ دَقِيقَةٍ عَنْ أَثَرِ الْكَلِمَةِ، وَاذْكُرْ مَوْقِفًا تَكَلَّمْتَ فِيهِ بِكَلَامٍ طَيِّبٍ أَدْخَلَ السَّعَادَةَ عَلَى قَلْبِ شَخْصٍ آخَرَ.

Stand before your classmates and speak for one minute about the power of words. Share a personal experience where you used kind words that brought joy to someone.

تَحَدَّثْ مُرَاعِيًا الْإِرْشَادَاتِ التَّالِيَةَ:

Keep these guidelines in mind while you speak:

ابْدَأْ بِمُقَدِّمَةٍ مُنَاسِبَةٍ، مِثْلَ: «هَلْ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ الْكَلِمَةَ الَّتِي تَقُولُهَا قَدْ تَجْعَلُ صَدِيقَكَ...؟».

Start with an engaging introduction, such as: 'Did you know that the words you choose might make your friend...?'

قَسِّمْ حَدِيثَكَ إِلَى جُمَلٍ مُرَتَّبَةٍ، وَارْبِطْ بَيْنَهَا بِكَلِمَاتٍ مُنَاسِبَةٍ، مِثْلَ: (لِأَنَّ) - لَكِنَّ - وَلِهَذَا السَّبَبِ فَإِنَّنَا...

Organize your speech into clear points and link them with transition words like: 'because,' 'but,' or 'for this reason, we...'

اسْتَخْدِمْ كَلِمَاتٍ تُؤَثِّرُ فِي الْمُسْتَمِعِينَ وَتَجْعَلُهُمْ يَهْتَمُّونَ بِكَلِمَاتِهِمْ، مِثْلَ: (تُؤَثِّرُ - تُحْزِنُهُمْ - تُسْعِدُهُمْ).

Use words that resonate with your listeners and encourage them to be mindful of their own speech, such as: 'influence,' 'sadden,' or 'delight.'

اسْتَخْدِمْ تَنْغِيمَاتِ الصَّوْتِ وَتَعْبِيرَاتِ الْوَجْهِ الْمُنَاسِبَةَ مَعَ كُلِّ عِبَارَةٍ تَقُولُهَا.

Use appropriate vocal inflection and facial expressions to match each phrase.

اخْتِمْ حَدِيثَكَ بِجُمْلَةٍ تُلَخِّصُ فِكْرَتَكَ.

End your speech with a sentence that summarizes your main point.

Improving my performance

أَتَعَرَّفُ رَأْيَ زُمَلَائِي مِنْ خِلَالِ النِّقَاطِ التَّالِيَةِ؛ لِأُطَوِّرَ أَدَائِي:

I will ask for my classmates' feedback on the following points to improve my performance:

بَدَأْتُ بِمُقَدِّمَةٍ مُنَاسِبَةٍ.

I began with a suitable introduction.

قَسَمْتُ حَدِيثِي إِلَى فِكَرٍ مُرَتَّبَةٍ.

I organized my speech into logical ideas.

اسْتَخْدَمْتُ تَنْغِيمَاتِ الصَّوْتِ وَتَعْبِيرَاتِ الْوَجْهِ الْمُنَاسِبَةَ.

I used appropriate vocal inflection and facial expressions.

اسْتَخْدَمْتُ تَعْبِيرَاتِ الْوَجْهِ الْمُعَبِّرَةَ.

I used expressive facial gestures.
