كَانَ ذَلِكَ أَوْلَى وَأَجْدَرَ، وَلَكِنَّ الْقَائِدَ، فِي هَذِهِ الْمَرَّةِ، كَانَ لَا يَعْنِيهِ مِنْ أَمْرِ نَفْسِهِ شَيْءٌ.

That would have been more appropriate, but the leader, this time, was indifferent to his own concerns.

إِنَّمَا يَعْنِيهِ شَأْنُ الْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنْ أَتْبَاعِهِ، قَبْلَ أَنْ يَعْنِيَهُ شَأْنُ الْأَقْوِيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ.

He cared more for the plight of his vulnerable followers than for the strong among them.

كَيْفَ تَقُولُ؟

What are you saying?

أَلَا تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ سَلَامَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي سَلَامَةِ نَبِيِّهِمْ؟

Do you not realize that the safety of the Muslims depends on the safety of their Prophet?

كَمَا أَنَّ سَلَامَةَ الْجَيْشِ فِي سَلَامَةِ قَائِدِهِ!

Just as the safety of an army depends on its leader!

وَسَلَامَةَ السَّفِينَةِ فِي سَلَامَةِ رُبَّانِهَا.

And the safety of a ship depends on its captain.

إِنَّ السَّفِينَ، إِذَا نَجَا رُبَّانُهَا، نَجَتِ السَّفِينَةُ!

If the captain survives, the ship survives!

لَمْ تَعْدُوا الصَّوَابَ، أَيُّهَا الصَّدِيقَانِ، فِي كُلِّ مَا تَقُولَانِ.

You are both right in everything you say, my friends.

فَكَيْفَ خَاطَرَ الرَّسُولُ ﷺ بِنَفْسِهِ، وَعَرَّضَهَا لِلتَّلَفِ فِي سَبِيلِ نَجَاةِ أَصْحَابِهِ؟

But how could the Messenger (PBUH) risk his own life and expose himself to destruction for the sake of his companions' survival?

هَذَا مِثَالٌ مِمَّا تَمَيَّزَ بِهِ الرَّسُولُ ﷺ مِنَ الْإِيثَارِ وَنِسْيَانِ النَّفْسِ.

This is a testament to the Prophet’s (PBUH) selflessness and altruism.

وَلَكِنَّ نَجَاحَ الدَّعْوَةِ مُقَدَّمٌ، يَا رَشَادُ، عَلَى نَجَاةِ أَنْصَارِهَا!

Yet the success of the mission, Rashad, takes precedence over the survival of its supporters!

وَلَوْ نَجَحَ أَعْدَاءُ الرَّسُولِ فِي كَيْدِهِمْ، لَقُضِيَ عَلَى هَذَا الدِّينِ إِلَى الْأَبَدِ!

Had the Messenger's enemies succeeded in their plot, this religion would have been extinguished forever!

لِلدِّينِ رَبٌّ يَحْمِيهِ.

The religion has a Lord who protects it.

إِنَّكُمَا عَلَى حَقٍّ فِيمَا تُقَرِّرَانِ.

You are both correct in your assessment.

وَلَكِنْ لَا تَنْسَيَا أَنَّ لِلدِّينِ رَبًّا يَحْمِيهِ.

But do not forget that the religion has a Lord who protects it.

وَقَدْ وَعَدَ رَسُولَهُ لَيَنْصُرَنَّهُ مَهْمَا يَلْقَ مِنْ عَنَتِ الْحَاقِدِينَ، وَكَيْدِ الْحَاسِدِينَ؛ فَلَا عَجَبَ إِذَا انْصَرَفَتْ جُهُودُ الرَّسُولِ ﷺ إِلَى حِمَايَةِ أَصْحَابِهِ، وَإِعْدَادِهِمْ لِيَكُونُوا نَوَاةً صَالِحَةً لِمَا يَسْتَقْبِلُهُ مِنْ جِهَادٍ.

God promised His Messenger victory regardless of the malice of the hateful or the plots of the envious; it is no surprise, then, that the Messenger (PBUH) focused his efforts on protecting his companions and preparing them to be the foundation for the struggles ahead.

لَقَدْ كَانَ ﷺ أَعْظَمَ مَثَلٍ فِي إِنْكَارِ النَّفْسِ.

He (PBUH) was the ultimate example of self-sacrifice.

كَانَ أَكْمَلَ إِنْسَانٍ فِي كُلِّ الصِّفَاتِ!

He was the most perfect human in every respect!

إِنَّ حَيَاةَ الرَّسُولِ ﷺ سِلْسِلَةٌ مُتَّصِلَةُ الْحَلَقَاتِ مِنَ الْجِهَادِ الَّذِي تَنُوءُ بِهِ الْجِبَالُ.

The life of the Messenger (PBUH) was a continuous chain of struggles that would crush mountains.

كَمَا أَنَّهَا سِلْسِلَةٌ مُتَّصِلَةُ الْحَلَقَاتِ مِنَ النَّجَاحِ الَّذِي لَا يَخْطُرُ لِأَحَدٍ عَلَى بَالٍ.

Yet it was also a continuous chain of successes beyond anyone's imagination.

أَيُّ إِعْنَاتٍ لَقِيَهُ لِبَثِّ عَقِيدَتِهِ؟!

What harassment he endured to spread his message!

وَأَيُّ إِرْهَاقٍ احْتَمَلَهُ فِي سَبِيلِ دَعْوَتِهِ؟!

And what exhaustion he bore for the sake of his cause!
