Line-by-line translation ·

Example: The glass broke from the intense heat.
His statement 'I created' means 'I brought into existence.' This act of bringing into existence is preceded by planning, as the root meaning of creation is estimation.
The poet said: 'You indeed execute what you have planned, while some people create but do not execute.'
His statement regarding the Jinn: they are an unseen realm hidden from us. This is why the root letters Jeem and Noon are used, as they both signify concealment and being veiled.
Examples include the words for spirit, shield, and Paradise.
His statement regarding mankind: they are so named because they cannot live without companionship. They find comfort in one another and are drawn toward each other.
His statement 'Except to worship Me' has been interpreted as 'Except to acknowledge My Oneness,' which is true. It also means they humble themselves before Me through obedience—by performing what is commanded and avoiding what is forbidden. Part of this obedience is to affirm His Oneness, Glorified and Exalted is He. This is the wisdom behind the creation of the Jinn and mankind.
For this reason, God gave humans intellect, sent them messengers, and revealed scriptures. If their purpose were the same as that of beasts, the wisdom of sending messengers and revealing books would be lost, as they would ultimately be no different from a tree that grows, flourishes, and then decays.
God Almighty says: 'Indeed, He who has ordained the Qur'an for you will surely bring you back to a place of return.'
He must return you to a place where you will be recompensed for your deeds: if they are good, you will receive good, and if they are evil, you will receive evil.
The wisdom behind their creation is not to benefit God, which is why He says: 'I do not want from them'
