يَبِيعُ أَوْ يَبْتَاعُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُولُوا لَا أَرْبَحَ اللَّهُ تِجَارَتَكَ. فَهَذَا أَيْضًا تَقُولُ لَهُ لَا أَتَمَّ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَلَكِنَّ الْحَدِيثَ إِنَّمَا قَالَهُ الرَّسُولُ ﷺ، عَلَى سَبِيلِ الْعُمُومِ فَلَا نُخَاطِبُ هَذَا بِالتَّصْرِيحِ وَنَقُولُ لِشَخْصٍ رَأَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ تَمِيمَةً لَا أَتَمَّ اللَّهُ لَكَ، وَذَلِكَ لِأَنَّ مُخَاطَبَتَنَا الْفَاعِلَ بِالصَّرِيحِ وَالتَّعْيِينِ سَوْفَ يَكُونُ سَبَبًا لِنُفُورِهِ وَلَكِنْ نَقُولُ دَعِ التَّمَائِمَ أَوِ الْوَدَعَ، فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ تَعَلَّقَ تَمِيمَةً فَلَا أَتَمَّ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَمَنْ تَعَلَّقَ وَدَعَةً فَلَا وَدَعَ اللَّهُ لَهُ». أَخْرَجَهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ فِي الْبُيُوعِ / بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنِ الْبَيْعِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، وَالنَّسَائِيُّ فِي عَمَلِ الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ وَالدَّارِمِيُّ وَابْنُ حِبَّانَ مَوَارِدُ، وَالْحَاكِمُ، وَالْبَيْهَقِيُّ. وَحَسَّنَهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَصَحَّحَهُ الْحَاكِمُ، وَوَافَقَهُ الذَّهَبِيُّ.

يَبِيعُ أَوْ يَبْتَاعُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُولُوا لَا أَرْبَحَ اللَّهُ تِجَارَتَكَ.
If someone is buying or selling in the mosque, say: 'May Allah not make your trade profitable.'
فَهَذَا أَيْضًا تَقُولُ لَهُ لَا أَتَمَّ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَلَكِنَّ الْحَدِيثَ إِنَّمَا قَالَهُ الرَّسُولُ ﷺ، عَلَى سَبِيلِ الْعُمُومِ فَلَا نُخَاطِبُ هَذَا بِالتَّصْرِيحِ وَنَقُولُ لِشَخْصٍ رَأَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ تَمِيمَةً لَا أَتَمَّ اللَّهُ لَكَ، وَذَلِكَ لِأَنَّ مُخَاطَبَتَنَا الْفَاعِلَ بِالصَّرِيحِ وَالتَّعْيِينِ سَوْفَ يَكُونُ سَبَبًا لِنُفُورِهِ وَلَكِنْ نَقُولُ دَعِ التَّمَائِمَ أَوِ الْوَدَعَ، فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ تَعَلَّقَ تَمِيمَةً فَلَا أَتَمَّ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَمَنْ تَعَلَّقَ وَدَعَةً فَلَا وَدَعَ اللَّهُ لَهُ».
You would also say to this person, 'May Allah not complete it for you,' but the Messenger (peace be upon him) stated the hadith in a general sense, so we do not address this person directly and explicitly by saying to someone we see wearing an amulet, 'May Allah not complete it for you,' because addressing the doer directly and specifically would be a cause for his alienation; rather, we say, 'Leave the amulets or the seashells,' for the Prophet (peace be upon him) says: 'Whoever hangs an amulet, may Allah not complete it for him, and whoever hangs a seashell, may Allah not grant him peace.'
أَخْرَجَهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ فِي الْبُيُوعِ / بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنِ الْبَيْعِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، وَالنَّسَائِيُّ فِي عَمَلِ الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ وَالدَّارِمِيُّ وَابْنُ حِبَّانَ مَوَارِدُ، وَالْحَاكِمُ، وَالْبَيْهَقِيُّ.
