And I signaled to him about such-and-such news, meaning I gestured and made a soft sound about it.

منعناكم كراء وجانبيه * كما منع العرين وحى اللهام
We prevented you from the rent and its sides * Just as the den was prevented from the subtle sound of the lion's roar.

And they are heading towards the House, intending * Al-Akhfash said: 'ʿāmidāt' is in the accusative case as a circumstantial adverb.
سمعت وحاة الرعد، وهو صوته الممدود الخفي.
I heard the subtle sound of thunder, which is its prolonged, hidden sound.
والرعد يحى وحاة.
And thunder makes a subtle sound.
واستوحيناهم، أي استصر خناهم.
And we sought help from them, meaning we called out to them for aid.
والوحى: السرعة، يمد ويقصر.
And al-wahy: speed, it can be lengthened or shortened.
ويقال: الوحى الوحى: يعني البدار البدار.
And it is said: 'Al-waḥy al-waḥy': meaning, hasten, hasten!
توح يا هذا، أي أسرع.
Hurry, O you, meaning speed up!
