والنفيان مثله، ويشبه به ما يتطرف من معظم الجيش
And 'an-nafiyānu' is like it (scattered dust), and what is at the periphery of the main army is likened to it.
وحرب يضج القوم من نفيانها ضجيج الجمال الجلة الدبرات
And a war from which people cry out due to its scattered (elements/outskirts), like the clamor of the weary, plodding camels.
ويقال: أتاني نفيكم، أي وعيدكم الذي توعدونني
And it is said: 'Your threat came to me,' meaning your warning with which you threaten me.
